North China - noodles
South China - rice
North Vietnam - noodles
South Vietnam - rice
Northern U.S. - egg noodles, pasta
Southern U.S. - rice
What’s the mystery? Except why a noodle diet makes for taller Chinese.

I’d say it’s an exact parallel to the way residents of Boston and Atlanta view each other. Which one is “good” depends on your perspective. :)

Surprisingly, maybe. I'll give it a try, although this looks a little familiar. Just adding, not pinging. Thanks THWP!

In the Carolina Lowcountry, rice must be served at least once daily. Same with grits, but johnnycake is more an individual choice.
