An even more egregious “common knowledge” falsehood is the cooked numbers the PLO uses to push the idea that demographics are on their side, so Israel should do business now with the Jew-haters or things will get worse.
The fact is, Israel's population is growing faster than the “Arab territories” and the baseline the Palestinians are working from is barely half of what is claimed.

"Russias population may be growing, but the Russian population is not growing. Muslims in Russia are increasing in number." Yes, but for now, their increase is (temporarily) overshadowed by millions of ethnic Russians migrating from Central Asian countries (former Soviet Republics Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, etc.) back to to Mother Russia.
