I’ll take care of the TGO thread tonite.
He’ll probably announce the Passover show schedule tonite.
Dad’s 90th birthday is Thur 4/17, so I’ll be cheffing a lunch for him and my sister, and will be unavailable. Same with Sunday’s Easter dinner.

Hey all, I just wanted to say one thing. I am grateful to the Leukemia society. The advances they have made has helped my 81 year old dad survive 5 years after being diagnosed with it. He is as healthy as any 81 year old I have ever met.
I wish I could donate, because of my financial situation, I cannot, and that makes me feel even worse when I hear people asking for money for it. So, if any of you have donated, I personally thank you for your help when I cannot.

Congrats on your father’s birthday! I am pretty sure he will be gone next weekend. If that is the case, since I will be involved with my parish stuff, will not bother to post.

It was probably a small 2-3gal shrubs when they planted it, but it should be 3-5ft from foundation. Probably won’t hurt foundation, unless there are cracks where the roots can get in, but otherwise, no harm.
Best to remove it after it blooms and dig-out stump, backfill with topsoil, let settle and plant something farther away from foundation. Is is south/west/east-facing?

In deep south, but not in VA. I’ve seen them as 50-60ft trees in SC.

Best wishes for your father. It’s amazing how far we’ve come in the treatment of cancer.

MA’s too far north for Camellias; only a few cultivars will survive around here, and not for too many years. It’s a southern plant.

If you decide to remove it, stump too, I can suggest some nice replacements if you give me a couple of pics to look at and work from.

The deer and I keep ours trimmed, but I have seen some that may be that tall. We also have mountain laurel here that resembles the rhododendron, which gets rather tall.
