My grandmother was the cook at our two room schoolhouse back in the 50's and 60's. An example on a meal would have been
Baked Ham
Mashed Potatoes
Corn on the Cob
Home Made Biscuits with butter
Home made cinnamon buns
Oh how I wish I was back in that two room school house again.

Someone needs to find a photo of the white house spread and post it back to them, saying this is how we feast on your parents tax money, no shut up and eat and like it!

Im guessing the Obamas daughters eat the same meals, right?
Here’s one menu day from Sidwell - (the school Obama’s daughters attend)
******************************************************
http://www.businessinsider.com/sidwell-friends-obama-school-pearl-harbor-day-menu-2011-12
Sidwell Friends, the elite Washington day school attended by none other than Sasha and Malia Obama, is serving up an interesting menu today to commemorate Pearl Harbor.
The Washington Post’s Reliable Source blog reports that the school cafeteria has listed its Wednesday lunch as its “Pearl Harbor Day” menu.
Even more bizarre than the lunch itself is what the children at Sidwell Friends will be eating today to honor the attack. Japanese food no joke.
The Reliable Source has a picture of the heavily Japanese-inspired menu, which includes Asian mushroom and oriental noodle soup, garlic roasted edamame, teriyaki chicken, and other more generally Asian options.

One might think this would encourage parents to supply lunch for their children themselves, huh?Except half the schools are under the impression they have the authority to tell the parents what and whether they can send their kid for lunch. Bull$hit I say!
