If it’s a requirement of a religion then it appears as a symbol of that religion to an unaffiliated third party that doesn’t view it as a societal or physical requirement.
Intelligence....logic....understanding... these are concepts completely lost to Islam.
The koran does not specify any particular garb. This is just a way “make a statement”, to hold themselves apart from US society. To them I can only say, don’t be surprised when you are treated as not one of us.
