I read post 74, went to the link there, went to the links in those links. I see no restraining order, no court name, no case number, nothing that would convince me there ever was a restraining order.
Nolo over on ar15.com is trying to get a copy of all relevant documents. The original restraint order as well as the search warrant.
He posts it there, I’ll drop it back over here.
Bump
He said that he filed it, did interviews about his filing it on Gun Talk, Armed American Radio and other venues. The news reported that it was confirmed as filed.
Did you know the history of that shop and the city over their sign?
Thank you.
Ares Armor
update: The ATF did execute a search warrant against all of our buildings today. None of our employees have been detained or arrested. We will be open for business tomorrow. We will be back up and shipping out orders on Monday. We wholeheartedly believe that they are WRONG in their actions and we will be relentlessly pursuing remedy through the courts. Quote from an ATF Agent during the raid “searching is fun! paper work sucks.” Maybe the ATF thinks the Constitution is part of that paper work that sucks... Despicable behavior on their part. This is just the beginning! Thank you all for the support! -Dimitrios Karras, CEO
I hope they have HD hidden cameras on an off site NVR just in case suddenly discovered illegal parts show up.
Things have a habit of suddenly appearing or disappearing with some agencies....depending on their usfullness to them or not. Kinda like a front door and fully automatic weapons in a high profile action someplace in Texas a few years ago.
ATF accuses Ares Armor of illegal gun sales in response to restraining order

Means that the BATFE executed an illegal search...
ATF taking a report for a local crime?
Yes and it would be tragic if they got really, really pissed and started making suppressors and full auto weapons from readily available common materials like this guy in the UK did:
That’s a pretty sweet site. I’m saving it.
Thank you.

Nolo found this, but he can’t find the seizure warrant. Thinks it might be sealed.
Thanks. I'd be very interested.
We all would.

Not amused in the slightest.
Deleting doesn't really delete, if you have federal law enforcement tools available. I guess the ATF hoped to be able to recover any deleted data by seizing the physical computers.
The only absolutely certain way to delete sensitive data is to get a new disk drive, copy over everything you didn't want to delete, and then thoroughly physically destroy the old disk.
Anybody knowing he's about to get law enforcement attention should backup, restore the non-sensitive files to a new disk, and leave the old disk with your lawyer (to avoid "obstruction of justice" charges over "destroying evidence"). LEOs are much more hesitant about smashing down lawyers doors and seizing privileged information.
You're welcome.
I'd suggest anyone who has an interest in home built firearms download the entire site, along with all the plans listed on it, rather than just bookmarking it. In the past it briefly disappeared while the British government was persecuting prosecuting the late Mr. Luty.
“UPDATE 3/16: Apparently the temporary restraining order obtained by Ares Armor was revised to include a clause to not restrain lawful criminal proceedings. So, I guess the ATF considers breaking into a business and stealing its computers and records is a lawful criminal proceeding. I guess the people who bought the lowers in question can expect some kind of contact from the ATF. Fun times.”
I took the above off the Guns Saves Lives blog.
Apparently last week the BATFE raided EP Armory to get their cusotmer list as well.
Its called illegal de facto gun registration. There is no law anymore. There is no constitution anymore. Its whatever the jackboot government says it is.
Hey, we had a pipe burst and my computers got soaked and fried, so we threw them away and bought new ones. Prove it didn`t happen! Especially if a section of pipe did get replaced and there is water damage in that area.
