I haven’t seen anything from Ron Paul that indicates that he doesn’t care who marries whom. He has said that marriage is one man with one woman. Paul also said he supported the Defense of Marriage Act and the Marriage Protection Act. Has he changed on that in the last couple of years?

I support Ted Cruz. No one can articulate conservatism like Cruz. Paul is a lightweight compared to him. Cruz is the nearest thing to Ronald Reagan the party has seen since Reagan died. He’s a small government conservative and he’s not an isolationist.

Really? Reagan signed an Amnesty in to law.

I like Ted, but I’d like to hear more from him on immigration than just “let’s have this conversation next year”.

Your personal experience doesn’t reflect the reality.

The tea party is not so libertarian, but it is overwhelmingly social conservative, the tea party is made up of a more religious crowd than the GOP is.

The Marxists agree with the libertarians on social issues, which of course GUARANTEES, LIBERAL ECONOMICS, let’s not do what you say, let’s not join together against conservatism.

Libertarians are small government liberals.

You reveal your troll traits on every thread where you spam the thread with the single word, as you post falsehoods and misinformation, while avoiding posts that correct you.

You have become childlike and overly intimidated and fearful.

When presented with facts contrary to their opinion

If that were true, then you would have shown post 80 to be factually inaccurate, instead of curling up and reverting to troll mode.

Wrong. Libertarianism is not "against" conservatism. And particularly regarding FISCAL (i.e. ECONOMICS) issues. Libertarians want a SMALLER government and join conservatives in wishing to eliminate government programs and enfringement upon our liberty by liberal economics.

The fiscal issues facing this country are so dire that they need addressed first or there won't be a free country remaining in which to debate the social issues.

It's a silly argument. Marxists want to outlaw religion, free markets, and the whole idea of the Individual. Libertarians are pretty much the exact opposite.

This is the "trollish" behavior I mentioned up thread. It doesn't matter what the facts are.

Prepare to be painted with the entire LP platform regardless of what you feel about it.

Of course libertarians are against conservatism, what do you think all the arguments are about?

FR isn’t full of years of threads of conservatives under attack for economics, it is about the social conservatism that FR is under attack by libbers.

Without social conservatism, economic conservatism is doomed, we have decades of history to prove that, more liberalism just creates more liberal voters, and voters who don’t know, or care about the long range destruction that short range thinking causes.

I cannot believe that anyone honestly believes that an even more socially and culturally liberal America, leads to people deciding to end the social programs and free money, and a life of leisure.

in post #80 you posit that social liberalism leads to big government liberalism. Contra that, I say that it’s the exact opposite. Belief in big government as an answer to problems has led to or allowed social liberalism. AFDC and it’s successors have led to huge numbers of unwed mothers, not the other way around. Since those programs started, the number of unwed mothers has exploded. Big government solution as the root cause of a socially liberal outcome. Q.E.D.

I have no recollection of anything that shows Cruz is listening/tuned with McCain. Cruz as for me is so much closer to Reagan than McCain. I say this with a belief that Cruz has a high hurdle to jump as to being eligible for POTUSA even if it seems Obama has jumped much the same hurdle or perhaps in Obama’s case he just went around the hurdle.

Works the other way too. Without drastically shrinking the federal government. social conservatism is doomed.

Social liberals are the left, they created the programs, and the programs create more social liberal voters, which leads to more programs, which creates more social liberal voters......

Social conservatives are the conservative voters, social liberals are the liberal voters.

You miss the point and how we kept the govt small, and how it got big in recent generations.

Social conservatism kept the govt small, and social conservatism is almost gone, and social liberals and their resulting population of voters will make it impossible to ever regain conservatism.

If you think the path to regain America, is to fight to do more of the very thing that destroyed it, then you are incredibly wrong.
