I have another friend who has been on the gum for two years after using it to ‘stop smoking’ - I could smell cigarette smoke on him pretty constantly. He's stopped buying the gum and I've not smelled the residue of a cigarette since I got him a vaporizer.
Almost universally, I've seen acceptance of vaporizers. Sure, there's still the anti-smoking freaks who start hacking if they see a cloud of steam.
If I find myself in Los Angeles, and get warned by a police officer that I'm violating this ordinance, I will certainly accept the ticket and then go fight it, demanding the city provide actual evidence of harm to justify the law - not impression of harm, not opinion of harm, but proof that there is harm.
And the only thing they have is one set of tests from the first (awful) devices and liquids that came from China which have pretty much no relation to the device I use.
And then I'll turn around and pull out the telephone book sized volumes of the harm from second hand smoke that these idiots have compiled, and note that this law harms ME by requiring ME to go to a ‘designated smoking area.’
I'm sure that a few liberal judges will quash this defense, but the only way for the city to win is for them to effectively say there is no harm to second hand cigarette smoke and there is harm to second hand water vapor. It will never stand up to a spirited defense.
Here in our own little liberal state, they are talking about putting a big old user tax on electronic cigarettes.
Whatever is not banned is compulsery!
“Yeah whatever. Good luck enforcing that.”
Especially given the leftists adversion to Voter ID. Since they consider requireing a photo ID is racist, I’d simply not have any ID to present to a government enforcement goon.
