Boy Putin’s pulling out all the stops. This is history in the making. A chance to see how the old Soviet Union used to do things.

Personally, I have no idea.

I posted it hoping, 1. to help confirm or refute it. and 2. to hear other more learned takes on possible whys, wherefores and repercussions.

At the least, we have tapped into some of FR’s legendary wit - shrugs and smiles.

May God keep watch over us all.

It’s been traveling twitter for days now...just propaganda....although He has no chance of going back as Pres. of Ukraine....might be a rumor as that will let him slither away quietly.

BTW Putin hated him and how he was governing Ukraine....embarrassment to Putin.

At risk of hijacking my own thread, it sounds a lot like Georgia, where there is no such thing as a sure thing : / Do you all have closed primaries?

Ours are open, and it is a ridiculous way to try and elect decent folk : /

Yes and even before , began soon after his speech from Russian Border..after he left.

We know Putin was pretty disgusted with how the guy was governing Ukraine. You notice Putin never says anything favorable about him when pressed to do so, rather plays neutral.

At any rate, Ukraine will have another election....meanwhile Putin keeps the nation stable from getting out of hand again.

Interesting... too many forget Putin didn’t intervein until the coup had outed the guy. I look at this whole thing as Putins “reset button” with Ukraine. He doesn’t want war he wants their agreements to stand .....and keep EU and US from annexing Ukraine via Nato.

Closed in the sense that once you vote for a candidate in the primary, you cannot vote in the opposite party’s primary, or runoff: we use the 50 +1 runoff practice here.

You could, however, if you were a RAT, vote in the R primary then vote RAT in the general.

RATS, fearing the TEA party, could vote for Cornyn, but they’d be labeled as a R voter and could not vote for another RAT - including Wendy Davis - until the general in Nov. Davis is guaranteed to lose, so from a RAT perspective it would be best to cross over and vote for Cornyn and other GOPe in the primary rather than face TEA candidates against their ‘real’ candidates in November.

See the anxiety?
