Busdaddy feels the weight, this time. But he hasn't been this heavy since before his heart surgery, and that was four years ago in October this year. I worry about him, but I don't want to nag him. He's a big boy, and has been on his own a lot of years.

His joints and agility are affected, and he has resisted anti-inflammatories for whatever reason. I think he said he didn't want to depend on it. When I explained that by not using the anti-inflammatories, he was damaging the joints more, he finally relented.

I had to go get more bananas. As many baby aspirins as I've chewed, I'm afraid of the consequences, so I'm heading it off at the pass. I usually only buy two at a time, and use half of one for each bowl of the cocktail.

I just had a breathing treatment, too, and that seems to have helped a lot, even though I took the portable nebulizer with me to his place and used it several times.

I had to get more bananas today. We use about 2 dozen a week!

I was buying them in bunches of five or more, but they got too ripe, too soon. I like them when they are still slightly green. The flavor and texture are both good, then.

My family complains when they’re slightly green They like completely brilliant yellow, without a hint of brown.

If there is any brown, they are too ripe for me. But I have a brother who likes them black and shriveled. *shudder* He’s strange, anyway...

IF they get black, we make banana bread or muffins. Tom sometimes hides the bananas until, “Oh, look how overripe these are. Get some chocolate chips so I can make muffins!”

Tom’s at the coast with DP this weekend, while Elen has her summer-job training again. They were supposed to go on a ferry to some island today. When you come to visit again, all the walls will be covered with DP’s lighthouse photographs.

Also, we’ll have had some of the floors tiled. I’m going to have the cats board at the vet’s while Ramon is doing the floors. Bill says he’ll be here, if he’s got a job, so he could take care of the lizards and gerbils.

Tom sounds like my brother, but he ate the bananas, as well as made banana bread. Clever Tom... I wonder how banana bread would taste with a dark chocolate glaze...???

I like photos, so any time I visit, you have my permission to drag out all the photos of whatever! LOL! It’s interesting to me to learn what other people are interested in!

Will you be tiling all the rooms, eventually, or just downstairs? I think it is much easier to clean a tile floor than a carpeted one. I hope to never have carpeted floors again. They are such an allergen and dirt catch-all.

The birthday party is in a park at 2:00 PM tomorrow, and I will need plenty of water, and maybe even my nebulizer. I understand no one is thinking of my needs because no one knows them, (they don’t ask and I don’t volunteer) and so it’s up to me to make it work. I just won’t be able to stay as long as everyone else because I’m a crikety ol’ lady. (My mother’s term was, “Ol’ Granny Crikety Back!”)

Is there any news on Piper? When the Late Lamented Rusty ran away, he was in a black leather harness. When we got him from the dog catcher, there was no harness, so we figured someone had taken him, let him out to do his business and he took off. It was three days of hell for us, for sure.

*hugs* to Anoreth.

Incredible, I think.

We intend to have the kitchen and dining room tiled in June. We'll leave the carpet in the living room (where the tv is), the hall and the sunroom, and the wood in the schoolroom for now.

Someday, when we have fewer occupants, we can tile the schoolroom, too, maybe. It's supposed to be the "formal dining room," according to the builder, so I don't know what someone else might want. Looking at our usage, putting vinyl over the wood might work. Then someday, the whole thing could be replaced.

No word on Piper yet. Anoreth and Bill got signs out over a good area, including at Terry Simpson's farm store, so maybe we'll hear something in a day or two. Maybe Monday someone will call the county.

I think tile in the schoolroom/formal dining room is an excellent idea. I never cared for carpeting in an eating area. Especially with children around.

Wishing the best for Piper. I will keep her and Anoreth in my prayers tonight.

I’ve almost finished my Easter shawl, but when I was looking for my green purse to go with my green shoes, it was nowhere to be found. *sigh* I will go to Savers on Monday and see if they have one there. Green or pink...maybe I’ll head on over to SA, since it’s almost in the same complex. Who knows? I might find exactly what I want for not a lot of money! :o])

With any luck, the worst of this chest pain/achy/sickie business is over. At least, I hope so. I will soon have another breathing treatment and hopefully, I will rest easy tonight.

If I go to a store again, I could get you a little extra Something. I don’t have a house payment due until June 1.

We almost had the builder put carpet in the “dining room,” but then we had carpet in the eating area in the apartment we were in, and that was really annoying, so we had them change it to wood just at the last moment that it wouldn’t cost extra. It was certainly the right decision to not have carpet, and we didn’t have the choice of vinyl, or laminate, like we had in Tulsa.

We’ll see how the tile holds up in the kitchen. Ramon says the kind we’ve chosen is very durable, but we’re a tough crowd. If the tile is going to show wear, I’d rather leave the wood in the schoolroom for another ten years, and then get it tiled if we make that a dining room - when there’s a manageable number of diners - or put the house up for sale.

I hope you have a good night and a great time with the baby’s party. I’ll keep you in prayer - I know your family is difficult. Anoreth is feeling better after her Harley ride. There’s just nothing we can do about Piper except wait.

Oh, heck, I need the exercise—let’s all meet there for dinner. I’ll whip up a batch of chocolate mousse for the crowd. Better yet, you can bring the beer and I’ll bring a few gallons of pink restorative.

All are welcome, any time, except when we’re at the beach and Ramon is tiling. We have plenty of bread and eggs, as well as (on a good day) the ingredients for more complicated breakfast meals.

Smoking in the pergola, please, or the garage if it’s raining.

Do you ever use lime instead of lemon? That’s exactly the way I make it.

Thanks!

I love wooden floors (I grew up on them) but I have really taken a liking to the ceramic tiles in Busdaddy’s house. They are so easy to clean!

I’ve been over here, http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3143706/posts?page=241#241, giving encouragement to the Troops. I mean, it’s the least I can do. I would LOVE to donate monthly...I will seriously check the finances on payday. I would feel so good about being here...

Tomorrow, before I go anywhere, I will have to dig into my summer clothes, as the temp will be 85. *sigh* Why do people plan things so LATE in the desert???

How is Anoreth taking this disappearance of Piper? I hope she is OK. And I’m sure Piper will be found.

"Oh, heck, I need the exercise—let’s all meet there for dinner."

That would certainly be some exercise! My so-called job doesn't afford me much time off, and what little it does I usually spend heading in the opposite direction, to the wilds of Pennsylvania.

But maybe some time will turn up and I'll decide to make a road trip somewhere. That direction, and yours as well, would definitely be in my sights.

I was okay with looking at those pictures. In real life, I’m sure I’d have moved some of the items.

OCD is individual. My compulsions are focused on housecleaning issues.

I don’t smoke. I don’t burn, either, but thanks for the advisement. Mr. Sg and I tiled our entire house. We are thankful that we did now that Chainsaw is dashing here and there, and leaving little reminders of her presence. This is our retirement house, so we could decorate it however we like. If you plan to sell, though, please be aware that tile, glass, stainless steel and white walls everywhere are the preferred decor of serial murderers. (I just like to be able to see where I have to clean. I don’t know where they get this jazz, but just be aware that there are illogical prejudices out there.)

OK, we have a vague plan. I’m not ready for a concrete plan yet, and I actually blew out my left elbow when I laid concrete with Mr. Sg, so let’s forget the concrete and go with a flexible plan.
Prayer at 2000 hours. Piper and y’all included, of course. I’m probably out of here for the evening, so good night and sweet dreams, y’all!

It's a small demographic, but they're making a niche for themselves.
