Some time ago Dennis Praeger interviewed someone claiming to be a "native American activist" concerning this same subject. The "activist" asked Mr.Praeger how he would like it I there were a team called the Texas Jewboys. Praeger responded: "I would be overjoyed because FINALLY, after 5000yrs someone would be cheering for us". Besides, I was born in daBronx, I'm a "NATIVE AMERICAN", too and not the least bit offended.

and Rep. Tom Cole, R-Okla

Perhaps Tom Cole would be wise to look up the actual meaning of the name "Oklahoma" before agitating to change the name "Redskins".

Tom Cole is making an Ass of himself on this.

I’ve been to every tribe in Oklahoma and their lives are so 3rd world.

The BIA isn’t even a joke. It’s an inhumane beauracrapy .

The hospitals are in deplorable conditions

The BIA doesn’t help these people. They manage.them on their fabulous reservations.

It’s now been 3 generations and only the Cherokee have found a way to adapt, built amazing businesses that keep idle hands busy, instill pride and profit the tribe in general.

Their drug and alcohol problems have dropped and they are a proud nation that is vibrant and productive.

If you really want to do something help the tribes of Oklahoma raise themselves up. Help them develop leaders Like Wilma Mankiller

The Pawnee, Osage, Chicks, Creek, Muscogee could use your help.

When I think of the RedSkins I think of a fierce warrior.

Indomitable and Persevered.

You see contempt through your holier than thou PC glasses.

You are small man looking at the wrong problem that at its solution solves nothing and costs you nothing.

Yer such a him shot.

I’d debate your lazy intellect but, it would embarrass me to see a grown man cry.

Friggin baby ...

“Washington Redskins” is a well known brand name so just from a financial view you would not want to change it. Same as Coca-Cola would resist being forced to change their name. You spend years building up brand name recognition.

Libs should mind their own business

... and Dennis Prager later added, “It would be wonderful to hear 80,000 people yelling, ‘Go Jews!’”

My ancestors came here in the late 1600’s I am as native as anyone else. The wife unit, part Apache, gets irritated when I check Native American on forms.

I repeat myself from the fall, but I do believe that “Washington Redskins” is indeed patently offensive to many people sensitive to past and present treatment of our indigenous people.

Therefore, the team should be re-named the “Landover Redskins”.

They should change the name to the Washington Palefaces to jab at the politically correct.

LOL!!!

BTW, you don't hear any Americans of Scandinavian descent objecting to the name "Minnesota Vikings," which could be taken as portraying an image of primitive savagery. Same for Irish-Americans re the name "Boston Celtics."

What I am observing is a renewed effort to bring tribes back into the Democrat base. They need the tribes for the election. In Whatcom county, there is a big push to limit the well water to farms, something that had been put on the back burner for several years, after the huge water allocation that was promised to the coal terminal that the unions want.

Maria Cantwell has been a big supporter of the GPT coal terminal. She was the person who arranged the deal for SSA to operate a receiving terminal in China. The tribes in WA oppose terminals, almost universally.
So Cantwell is trying to make it look as though she is on the side of the tribes by insinuating herself into this silly argument.

Everyone needs to get in the face of the overbearing, meddling ignoramuses in DC and tell them to stick it where the sun don't shine.

HAIL to the REDSKINS
and TO HELL with the POLITICAL ELITES.
