Commuting sentences and granting pardons is part of the Executive branch’s mandate to enforce the law. I don’t see this particular executive action as being unconstitutional.

I suppose it’s easier for criminals to vote Democrat MORE THAN ONCE if they’re not in prison.

White and Asians go to prison. Especially those with assets they can consume to fund the for profit sector in the legal system.

Blacks and latinos will never do time for anything. Their legal costs are a burden on our for profit legal system.

In April 2009 a Congressional vote overturned former President George W. Bush's executive order that had changed the Presidential Records Act after he became president.

Do the same thing you cowards.

One of my 1st predictions about Obama before he even took office was that he would eventually pardon every drug offender in jail in the US.

I can see it now, a pardon and a voter registration form all on one document (with the political party already marked DEMOCRAT).

I suppose he'll appoint them to important political positions.
What else would they be qualified to do?

I picture the thugs that were made policeman after that main droogie got out of re-education camp in Clockwork Orange.

Will he release white-collar crime prisoners? Bernie Madoff and tax cheaters, that type prisoner? Or will he release only minority prisoners doing time for drug offenses?

Y’know, freeing up beds for violent offender by releasing non violent “drug possession” offenders ain’t such a bad idea.

Not that Obama will actually do it that way...

This is the black criminals get out of jail free card. Watch the crime rate jump sky high again.

Release criminals onto the streets. Then force crime-free suburbs to build housing to take the criminals. Then when they start killing the suburbanites who go out to work every day, arrest the suburbanites who complain.

That is 0’s way.

I’d be willing to let 10 death row inmates out if he will take their place.

The GOP counter-proposal: only free those prisoners who have recently said the Pledge of Allegiance

Can't let the democrats corner the convict vote you know.

If King 0bama chooses to flout the law, openly abusing his powers; civil disobedience to the monarch is in order.

Given his unlimited constitutional power to do so, he should just pardon all the prisoners.
