You run too far up the coast in BC—Vancouver is a very small enclave—and not far enough east into Ontario on the disputed portion. Renfrew County, which is the next county over from Ottawa, is quite conservative—the Ontarian equivalent of rural Alabama. Quebec, while deserving its own designation, ought to be somewhat smaller than the province. The French speakers outside of Quebec have a very different view from those inside, and while I do know that at least portions of western Quebec would split off from Quebec (beginning with an area that can be seen from a hill that is about 10 minutes from my house), I do not believe that any of the Francophone areas outside of Quebec would opt to join Quebec. Putting Montreal and Toronto together has never worked well. Put Newfoundland in with New England, and give Detroit,Buffalo and Ottawa to Greater Toronto.

The fact of the matter is, Canada was the only country separating the two adversaries so we allowed the Americans the right to construct extensive radar installations and nuclear missile defence systems on Canadian territory as a means of defending mainland USA . Just because geography allowed the majority of Canadians to also shelter under the US defence umbrella does not mean we are freeloaders. We are a peaceful nation but carry our share of the load, are ferocious if provoked and have never backed down from anybody including the good old USA. It ain’t easy living next door the the worlds only superpower in this day and age...just ask the Mexicans.

I went to Vancouver in 2006 and came home early because I was having such a miserable time. Service was so unfriendly, downright surly. People didnt speak English. I don’t remember what they spoke. Maybe they determined that I didnt have much money. But still. I had heard about East Hastings so took that route to the police museum(the one fun thing on the trip-dont miss it) 10 times as many heroin zombies stumbling around as in Everett on its worst day. Bring “harm reduction “ policies to your city and you have this to look forward to, IMO.
My cousin and me had gone to Victoria on the Clipper 4 years earlier and stayed at the Empress for one night, part of a special package, and it was great. Nothing like Van.
You can have Van. But I Iove other parts of BC. Radium is one of my favorite hot springs, and Ive been to a lot of them. Kootenay and Yoho are two of my favorite national parks.

Banff/Lake Louise is one of the most beautiful places on the planet, and everyone we met was very friendly.

I shall of course consider seriously and follow your advice - the day I get my brain replaced by a cauliflower.

While it is true that regionalities are more consistent cross-border (Alberta - Montana, BC - Washington State, New Brunswick - Maine), overall the internals are too different and would not work at all.

Northern Ontario as far east as Renfrew County will always be welcome. All the healthy, non-decadent areas and people will be welcome.

A strictly enforced immigration policy will be mandatory though. Millions will be desperate to get in. The hard-working, self-reliant, non-decadent will be welcome, but the others will be eager to bask in all the advantages that come of self-discipline and ascendancy, and they must not be allowed to do so.

I don’t know Washington that well, but I expect that the eastern counties will want to join the ascendant Provinces and States.

You have their number. Seattle is a sanctuary city with a plastic bag ban and an openly Socialist council member where Obama got 80% of the vote. Spokane isn’t.

Yes. I know Spokane. It’s a city of health and ascendancy—unlike the cities of decadence.

The proposal is for individual provinces to make their own decision.

Canaduh is a confederation not a union.

we would be adding pronvinces as new states not acutally merging countries.

remember in 1996 Canaduh came a few votes short of falling appart.

Theres an obsession by power mongers who want to merge things instead of decentralize them. We don’t need central planners to have more power

That's also how I see it.

Everett , where I live, on the other hand, has a lot of vacant buildings and hard core drug addicts roaming around.

But we also have the Nimitz! And the city is very historic.

Learning French is not as bad as you might think. I learned as much about English studying French as I did French. French already makes up just under 30% of the English language, more than any other language.

Canada could have had it all, American technology, British politics, and French food.

Instead they got American Food, British technology, and French politics.

Canadians, don't snipe at me for the joke. I got it from a Canadian Naval Officer I was serving with.

I have not read any of the thread yet... but the first thought that came to mind was... (and I’m sure I won’t be alone with this thought, and that is...) what makes you so sure that Canada would agree to such an arrangement??? Ha!

I’m thinking that over time, Canada will welcome it.
