>> Yet the opinion he expressed, that homosexuality is a sin, is shared by 45 percent of Americans, according to a recent poll.
Whatever... it’s YAHWEH’s rule. It’s not subject to a vote, a poll, or a popularity contest.

Like I stated in a previous DD thread:
A&E thought they'd broadcast DD thinking that the audience would be effeminate leftists poking fun at them, not realizing that the majority of viewers would come from the heartland. Now the Robertsons dared expressed their beliefs and A&E is panicking over what to do with them.

This thing isn’t all bad. This means that I can now fire my employees for expressing their religious beliefs outside the workplace. You know who you are, say ‘goodbye!’

I thought well over 70% of Americans believe in God.
If so, then I love to see the breakdown of those persons to see where they attend, if at all.
I would believe that any Muslim you asked would say homosexuality was sinful. I’d love to start parading Muslims out to support Christian and Jewish causes.

Of course its common. Next thing you know they’ll discover that barbecued meats are quite popular with carnivores.

His views are common among normal people. And normal among common people.
What fascinates me is the propaganda mechanism which is brought to bear to make normal people think they are the ones who are wrong. Its set on auto and it has a hair-trigger.

Once again, TV finds itself in another cultural hot zone. The Duck Dynasty situation recalls last summers uproar over celebrity chef Paula Deen, who lost her Food Network gig and many sponsorship deals after she admitted she had of course used a racial epithet in the past. . Great example of how the left operates. Culture and society are constantly changing. In the past things have usually changed very slowly and gradually. The left figured out that they can use the mass media and the education system to make changes quicker. The problem though is these are only shallow, quasi-intellectual changes...they don't have deep roots nearly anywhere but they're widespread. Wide and thin . The left then demonizes anyone who dares to poke their head out of this shallow pool and point out just how little substance there is to it.

A&E thought they'd broadcast DD thinking that the audience would be effeminate leftists poking fun at them, not realizing that the majority of viewers would come from the heartland. Now the Robertsons dared expressed their beliefs and A&E is panicking over what to do with them. Just so. I think the geniuses [sic] at A&E originally envisioned DD would be a show where people would gawk and laugh at the nouveau riche rednecks.
Surprisingly, the show was an enormous success, which brought A&E incredible revenue. However, it was successful, not because of the original concept, but because Americans identified with the Robertsons.
A&E was stuck. They loved the money, but hated what the Robertsons represented.
