To increase the quotient, you can increase the dividend or reduce the divisor. The Democrats want to reduce the divisor (population) to increase the quotient ( amount each person gets).

That makes sense. Democrats seem to believe that there is a fixed amount of money that exists separately from labor and production. They do not understand that the more people are working and producing, the more money there is--because money is a proxy for the results of labor and production. Understanding that they think that the value of money is intrinsic explains a lot, like how they are unable to grasp that wealth redistribution leads to less of everything for everyone.

If Obamacare stands, over the next 10 years or so, many senior citizens will die for lack of treatment, which will, in turn, help to resolve the Social Security solvency problem.
