As I said; if there was some way you could go to LPN school for a year, you’d always have a job.
You might even think about certified nurse assistant- 6-12 weeks training.

A young minister and his wife that we know, who are just starting out, (hoping to build a church) established a concierge business called Heaven Sent Concierge.
They charge $14 per hour and do things like grocery shopping, house cleaning and practically anything for the elderly or people who are just too busy. They have more business than they can handle.

Anyway, God bless you and good luck.

One more thing that I wouldn’t have thought of, but accidentally ran across: Jobs at the post office!

Here is a link to the post office where you can get started

In another place, NOT associated with the post office, but where it seems they help you with the exam needed, it says starting salary is $20/hr and there are many opportunities, including sorting mail, window teller, etc.

Definitely private health care aid for you since you have experience in doing so. Get a resume and good character references (important given lack of work experience) together emphasizing your skills and get that in the hands of reputable home health care services.

I hire and fire homecare aids/ house cleaners for my mother since relocating her to a retirement community in my state. These home health agencies are always seeking quality employees. It's hard to find reliable, patient, compassionate workers-- that's who they desperately need. Turnover is high in the business. I'd say get some work experience under your belt with an agency who might be willing to help you obtain a certification, and then sell your services as a private care aid where the pay can be considerably better.

The right clients will pay you good money to care for their loved ones, trust me. My only concern with you is are you burned out now or be at high risk once employed? It's stressful, demanding work, and sounds as if you've been at it a while. That is always an issue in that field whether it's traditional work or as a family caretaker; and one common reason for the high turnover rate.
