Cops are cowards and bullies, nothing more.
Exactly. A great example of this was the Emcore shooting in Albuquerque, only a minute or two lapsed from the time the 911 call came in and every nearby unit swarmed the building.
These days, too many cops are just unionized government employees, who just happen to carry a gun and badge as fashion accessories.
The best way to get cops to respond, I have come to understand, is to offhandedly mention to someone (away from the phone, not into it) that you heard that there was some drug money spotted strewn about the hallway. Then all the cops would have rushed in straight off to Arrest the money and bring in more revenue for the agency.
I live in Sandy Hook. There are usually only three to four cars on patrol in Newtown, which is about 60 square miles. One seems to have been there in about a minute and a half.
7 minutes is about the time it would have taken the State Troopers to get there lights and sirens.
When seconds count, the police are only minutes away....
No thanks. I will take care of business myself.
If the police come to help later, good on them.
And the libs want us to think this happened because of magazine capacity. If the cops wait around for reinforcements, seconds don't count. Everyone who is going to be dead will be before the cops even enter.
Now I simply do the best Sgt Schultz act you have ever seen, and keep it up as long as necessary.
Currently, I am researching into how to most effectively portray an "Illegal / Undocumented" individual. Then all they can do is write lots of paperwork and then I'll be released back into the populace, just like everyone else. If they can't get any revenue, they seem to lose interest for some reason.
Oh, and pull a Sharpton and accuse them of rascism for not understanding My culture, of course.

Someone needs to clean up the mess and get the body bag right?
So I guess the heroic police had absolutely nothing to do with stopping this tragedy.Just like a lot of other tragedies they’re never around to prevent. But yet our stupid, corrupt legislature and governor took the right to defend our selves right out of our hands and made us all potential victims.
They have become revenue enhancement officers...not law enforcement officers
From the time the first cop arrived to they entered the building is potentially 9 minutes. If that is true, the ban on 30 rd mags or “assault rifles” that they passed in CT would have made no difference, like Malloy and others claim.
engaging the counter-girl at Krispy Kreme is much more pleasant - and safe. :(
I do not disagree with the outrage over this report.
Used to live next to Newtown. The town & countryside around there is generally rural and very peaceful. LEO in Newtown is a plum assignment because hardly anything big (”life-threatening”) ever happens (or is reported, some argue).
Take it easy on this officer, whoever he may be. He might even be an incognito FReeper. I feel profound sorrow for him.
I feel angry at, but sorry for, the citizens living there who fight the right to carry, or try to bully out gun-owners, handguns, rifles or shotguns. I also pray they will change their minds and at least get a shotgun and learn how to use it and secure it responsibly.
Some of them learned, some didn’t, and the legislative climate got much, much worse. Today I read with mixed glee and dismay about the firearms companies who decided to abandon the state.
(I believe a final report on Newtown is expected Monday).
Fortunately, all cops are not cowards.
I personally knew a deputy who engaged multiple armed robbers by himself and lost his life.
Yup, they have what’s called indemnification.
Making sure there were no dogs needing to be shot on the way in...
Argh, you beat me to it! I should have read more before posting.
The female cop in the news recently who got shot in the face ans went in pursuit of the shooter.
