“These leaders of the catholic church in the US are dead wrong on this issue. However, catholics vote for the democrat party a majority of the time. Maybe the leadership takes its lead from the members. Sad.”

As far as I’m concerned, Catholics that don’t attend Mass are “former Catholics”; as the pro-life party (at least in name) the Republics sweep the active Catholic vote. As a Catholic, I’d rather my Church focused on the injustice of legalized discrimination via affirmative action; until they do, they can delude themselves into thinking the illegals will fund their operations while I put my checkbook away. For American Catholics, the organization that has closed schools due to financial constraints while focusing on illegal aliens is no longer in touch with its base; expect to see declining vocations and collections as a result.

As for my “tithing” of 10%, ask Caesar for it; he took that and more, and you still won’t oppose him.

The Catechism disagrees with the bishops on this as well. it calls for preservation of the country and it’s laws.

They are at least unaware of the corruption.

They need to stick to anti abortion or shut up about politics.

He is doing the Christian thing.

What is the Christian thing: love.

I guess some Protestants do not realize that Jesus gave us the two greatest commandments.

Love God with your whole heart, mind and soul.

Love your neighbor as yourself.

Maybe Cardinal Dolan is in error for loving his neighbor, and being concerned for him.

The real problem here is the system. Obama will not raise a hand to deport these people.

Obama wants this problem to fester.

Obama preaches the Gospel of Hate, as far as I am concerned. That is the real problem -- that Obama wants this problem to fester so illegal immigrants will be made legal, and allow even more illegal immigrants to enter the country.

Conservatives need have some love in their hearts...
