Sadly, I think you're correct. I've listened to the "History of Rome" podcast, which is great by the way, and the parallels to out time are stunning. I guess humans never change.

I think a good counter approach to the illegal alien approach is to start a series of existential campaigns that at least get the illegals asking why certain politicians are straining so mightily to get them into the American system...to get them to question the motives of their so called ‘benefactors’. So the question to ask, especially the women is....does politician X really care about your status as a person or does he/she want you for just a vote and as a cheap source of labor; do they really care about you and your 4 hungry babies?

Once questions start being asked of politicians of both parties who are pushing this issue, it will be easier then to expose the monied lobbying interests that are influencing these politicians. In some ways it is the long game that progressive Dems are playing but at the bottom end, its always about somebody’s wealth and power!

I don’t think appeasement is what I’m aiming for, but rather for both parties to reach a wink wink nod nod approach to a potentially very dangerous tyrant. The LIB/Conserv thing will always be with us but there needs to be a recognition that there’s a crazy person with nuclear launch codes at his disposal in the whitehouse!

Perhaps I misunderstood what you were saying but, liberals do not see a dangerous tyrant in the White House. They see a champion, a hero, a demi-god and sliced bread all rolled into one. There is no crack in their efforts to defend Obama regardless of what he has done. The Democrat Party has turned into cult worshippers. You are asking the insane to act sanely. It will not happen.
