Strange as it may seem, the 12 seats in New Jersey’s House delegation in Washington are split 6-6 between Democrats and Republicans. Sure, many of the Republicans would be considered Marxists in some deep red states ... but Scott Garrett (unbelievably) is one of a select handful of House members who consistently receives a perfect 100 rating from the American Conservative Union.

But for the 17th Amendment we would be able to take advantage of conservative strength outside of cities. Direct election of Senators handed the Senate to big cities. Now the whole country is run like Chicago.

I don’t even care anymore. It is time to start bunkering and try to find a way to pay all my taxes that are fixing to go up or go Galt and stop working and just try and get by.

Once again, it’s the ratio of those who pay into the system vs. those who live off it with the addition of borrowed Chinese money and a raised debt ceiling. State and government employees make up the additional spread that exists because they all hang on to the brass ring they feel so entitled to.

Yeah. NJ is no better than NY. Look, they voted Christie in who is a wolf in sheeps clothing.

Although here is some hope:

http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/361493/dem-referendum-tea-party-fizzles-booker-margin-nj-barely-half-obamas-2012-john-fund

The shut down didn’t hurt Lonegan. I hope he runs again, perhaps for Governor once Christie’s out.

I suspect strongly that Christie’s internal polling showed this and that he’d underperform. That’s why he set his election for 3 weeks from now.

Christie also didn’t want Booker to oppose him for Governor, so now that he’s in the Senate, there goes the only Democrat who had a shot at beating Christie.

No, we should start getting the voting laws changed.

Biggest and best would be ‘per county block’. No more of this Dems win Tampa/Miami so the whole of Fl. (regardless that the rest is anti-Dem) goes to them.

Purge voting rolls every 10 years. Make every re-register. No more 3rd party assists/etc. No motor voter.

No more, like here in Fl, this ‘early voting’ B.S.. If you can’t make it the ONE day, it wasn’t important enough for you to begin.

Any/all absentee must be hand delivered and secured. They will also be cross-referenced (out of state, illegal, etc.) and counted last (if needed)

Any/all disenfranchisement/illegal voting will be MANDATORY felony...10+yrs and $500k fine (indexed to inflation) per incident..

Yeah, I’m preaching to the choir

Good point.
Bergen County is the 20th wealthiest county in the US by per capita household income and Booker got 57% of the vote to 43% for Lonegan.

The racial makeup of Bergen County is 72% (650,703) White, 6% (52,473) Black or African American, 0.23% (2,061) Native American, 15% (131,329) Asian, 0.03% (229) Pacific Islander, 5% (45,611) from other races, and 2.5% (22,710) from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 16% (145,281) of the population.

I don’t think the comparisons can be made between this and 2012, though... Presidential elections tend to be turnout events... turnout for these special elections are notoriously low, and in those situations, Repubs tend to fare better. Were this election held last year, it’d have been a blowout.

All that said, Booker did underperform the polling, and that gives me a small flicker of hope for next month’s elections here in Virginia. I’m hoping against hope conservatives will turn out in huge numbers for Cuccinelli (though everyone seems to be pissed at both candidates).

With Booker running as an incumbent in Washington next year in a "normal" election cycle, Lonegan would lose by a wide margin if he runs again.

Lonegan might've had a better chance if Christie had scheduled this election on the same day as his own. The coattail effect can be powerful, especially given Fat Boy's level of support there.

If all you are doing is making scathing calls, you are doing nothing. Want things to change? Remove those quislings in the national party who are not with us.

I'll be knocking on doors, trying to get Cornyn primaried. Don't worry, I'm making calls, knocking on doors, and doing everything in my power to get conservatives in charge.

“Demographics is Destiny.”

I’ve posted comments along those lines for years now (and have done my share of breeding). Before, people passed up children for new cars; what are they missing out on now that decent jobs are getting scarce? People with a lot less successfully raise children; conservatives should ensure our culture and faith survive by following God’s first conversation with Adam & Eve: “Be fruitful & multiply”.

The special election was Lonegan’s best chance; in November the Dems will be busing in voters for the general election. I’ve campaigned for Lonegan in the past; as long as the media filters his message he will never win. As long as the media does this for ALL OF OUR CANDIDATES, we sill never win.

You’re probably right...but Christie was worried that if Booker was on the same ballot....more Dem’s would come out and they might have been more likely to vote a straight D ticket. The Jersey Jerk wanted to take no chances that he wouldn’t be in the lime light all by himself.

If you haven’t guessed..I loathe Christie. I personally think he’s a selfish pig<<<<<and I don’t mean because he’s overweight.
