Hate to out you as being wrong skippy, but I voted Cruz when the establishment candidate was David Dewhurst.

My tendency will be to vote the TEA party candidate.

You assume to much, and you know what the old saying is about “ass uming”

As I stated in a previous reply, I’m going to have a hard time voting for a Republican after the BS that has gone on these past weeks with Cruz. I really don’t know where to turn. A RINO is as bad as a Dem, but a Dem will vote lock step with another Dem president. I’m at a loss

The Republican Party ceased to be a vehicle for conservatism a long time ago. Their only principle is to have no principles; their only strategy is preemptive surrender; their only plan for victory is to tick off their base as much as possible.

The Republican Party was formed to replace the Whigs. They did such a good job of it that they became the Whigs, unable to take a stand on any critical issue.

With Democrats in charge, it’s as if you’re in a car driving off a cliff at 100 MPH. At least Republicans drive the speed limit — but you’re still going off the cliff. What we need is to turn the car around.

The Republicans’ time is almost up. Here comes the Freedom Party!

OK, I can see that. But maybe 10’s of thousands of those folks end up in with the libertarians or the natural law party. Then what do you have? a weak and diluted voting block.
I see all scenarios as a win win for Dems.

Well the GOP didn’t make the magic in the 2010 midterms. That was us tea partiers. We scare the living hell out of them. I’ve seen the looks and the whisperings when I would volunteer at GOP stuff. There is one party in D.C., THEM and then there are the rest of us. As Leona Helmsley said” the little people.” We just have to learn what Bam Bam’s chicken neck geeks know, how to cook twitter follower numbers, etc., I’m working on some things myself. I have been going to a few things, kinda sneaky like opposition research. I changed my hair. They had no clue who I was. What I notice they have going for them is venom but it is spent quickly. Just like Bill Ayers says you gotta infiltrate.

Well gotta start somewhere and its quite fun to pretend with opposition. They are quite easily thrown off balance I find. They are interesting to study, I notice a lot of attention deficit. You know us women. We are totally devious. First thing I do is much like what Cruz was saying about LBJ. Get with one group and say I agree with you, get with another and say I agree you. Key for me is find them out. They are so willing to tell you all about themselves. After that its easy.

My assumptions stemmed from the fact that you said you would advocate for voting for the candidate that was deemed, by the media and the GOPe, as the most conservative one that could win. That strategy has gotten us two bushes, a dole, a mccain, and a romney...none of whom were actually conservative.

Now, if I misunderstood your advocacy, or you misunderstood my position against the GOPe, then we're butting heads for nothing.

If, however, you are actually a die-hard GOP water carrier, and will vote for whomever they tell you that they've deemed "can win", then I have no respect for you.

Yes. And both Ron and Rand are just right on the cusp of being President. (With just 1% more of the vote we got it!)

Laughable.

Tens of thousands are statistically insignificant.

There are already hundreds of thousands spread over libertarian and other parties such as the Constitution Party. Many will sign onto the new conservative party.

This all started with GW Bush pushing for bigger and bigger government, running to the left with advice from his ultra liberal wife, with his push for comprehensive immigration reform, with his nomination of Harriet Myers for Supreme Court Justice and finally with his TARP and bailout support.

Then McCain sealed the deal for the new big government GOP but made the mistake according to the establishment of bringing Palin into the leadership. She was quickly told where her place was and was forced to read a script.

Finally, Romney was the last straw which caused the conservatives of the party to wince and most importantly caused the 6,000,000+ blue collar conservative old Perot bloc to stay home during the election. That demographic has been pinpointed as the key votes that caused the loss in the last election.

Any genuine conservative leader like Cruz can muster 50 to 70 million votes with a clear message of leadership. The party faithful and conservatives are just waiting to follow Cruz.

I was at the convention in Florida for Romney not because I supported Romney, I hated Romney. I was there because my cousin was a state GOP treasurer and got me a pass in Tampa while I was in Sarasota visiting family.

I sat at the convention dinner parties and listened to folks. Many asked if I was a republican and I said “sometimes”, and that elicited raised eyebrows. I told them I was an arch conservative Tea Party type and they smiled and asked was I glad that Paul Ryan was on the ticket. I countered and asked why was he not at the top of the ticket.

The bottomline is that the GOP is ready for real leadership. The GOP women are fully backing Sarah Palin and the men are in a daze about the lack of leadership and a resonating message.

I can tell you right now that Ted Cruz is on fire and actually used the phrase ‘ruling class’ on the Senate floor yesterday. This man will lead and attract tens upon tens of millions to follow. All he has to do is pick up the phone and call Sarah and ask “What’s our new party’s name?” and the deal will be done.

McConnell, Graham, Cornyn and so many others will be history; McCain too. Rove will find a new hobby out of the public eye. All of the RNC leadership will be decimated.

And in the end we will have a political revolution to address all of the egregious events of the past 5 to 10 years as well as a new platform for the future.

The country is still having a majority with conservative values. Voters are just waiting for a real leader to come along and I believe that person is Ted Cruz.

Got that Rush! I for one am tired of Rush pooh poohing third parties.

Hey Rush, care to explain how being good little soldiers and grabbing the ankles has befitted Conservatives? sorry, but I'm done with GOPe!

She actually wasn’t advocating a third party, just saying that in effect that’s what Cruz and co. currently are, battling the GOPe just as Reagan had to do back in the ‘70s.

I think Ted is separating the wheat from the chaff as we speak.

This event is showing us the difference between a conservative with principles and Republicans who just don’t want to rock the boat.

I say no. dividing the Republican vote is just what the Dems would want

We are already divided. And the GOP does not own our votes. They have to earn them and they have not.

Hi ‘Vet. I know I could not even come anywhere near that amount but I will work for ‘em with all the old bones are worth if a Palin/Cruz ticket happens in/for the 2016 election. Sarah Palin is the absolute tops with me and has been since the very first time I heard her speak. Her first book was a clincher also. I’m just learning about Cruz but it seems he is a cut way above what we usually get from the Republican Party.

Let’s get America back to her rightful place in the world.

I support Sarah Palin and Ted Cruz somewhere in the neighborhood of...1000%.

I think that's a mistake. Ditch the GOP entirely so you don't have to defend the mccains, bushes, grahams and on and on...

The Constitution Party. If we had followed the Constitution what problems would we have?

...she had some nice zingers for Pelosi. She suggested Cruz could read the entire Obama care bill so that Pelosi could finally find out whats in it.

Now that's funny right there!
