Misleading title. Corrected title: “House approves $40 billion cut in food stamps for able-bodied adults who can work but choose not to”

NO ONE will have to be cut off if they would reinstitute limits on what can be purchased.

I’d rather see a headline about the house cutting funding to the EPA to ease job creation.

Awesome! Some of “the poor” may now have to forego their Ubamaphones and flat-screen TVs to buy their beer and lobster and lottery tickets.
Boo-freaking-hoo.

Did they cut food stamps? No, not really. They changed the rules, putting back in place work requirements, and permitted states to drop drug users.

But that’s not the liberal slant, so instead, it is cutting 40 billion from the poor so they can feed their rich friends more tax cuts...

Just boggles the mind how easily 40 billion is tossed around as a number though. Isn’t that the GDP of a third world country?

If the House REALLY wanted to cut food stamps, they could go back to food distributions of commodities.. Sacks of flour, sugar, lard, beans, cured ham... And if someone complained that their diet doesn’t permit such things, a handout of where to find another food distribution that might offer something more appealing.

Yup! No agenda here! Rooters wouldn’t let some old liberal bias or DNC talking points memo get in the way of hard news, now would they?

Good start. Should be twice as much cut. Some of the misuse of this is hard to believe. Saw a lady the other day at the market make proper purchases and then went to the lotto machine and bought a bunch of tickets with CASH. She should have used the cash for the food.

I guess the rich will still get their food stamps uninterrupted.

House approves $40 billion cut in food stamps for the poor

Reuters. Reuters. YOU ARE NOT DOING WHAT THE DEMOCRATS PAY YOU FOR.

Here is the CORRECT headline:

Demonic Republican Tyrants in Congress Strip Poor, Starving Infants of Baby Formula In The Hopes They Die, Wretched and Alone, On A Barren Rock In the Oppressive, Deadly-Hot Rays of the Sun, Which Are Made More Deadly By Global Warming That Republicans Are Responsible For, Plus I Think They Started AIDS To Kill Black People Because They Are Racist.

There. Wouldn't you agree this has a little more cachet to it?

The first thing I want to see is for illegals to be removed, totally off the dole! I don’t want to hear that illegals are not eligible and all that hogwash- illegals that have a baby/children born here or who are pregnant darn sure do get it, and as adult in household the illegal parent decides what to do with it...use it, trade it for booze or drugs, sell it...

Once all the illegals are off then we can see who else can be cut.

The Republican-run House of Representatives voted to cut spending on food stamps for the poor by $40 billion over 10 years on Thursday, defying a veto threat from the White House in the name of fiscal reform.

It's actually 4 billion a year...for 10 years

That's a rounding error in DC...

50% would be a good start, 5% isn’t even a token to the taxpayers!
