It depends on how you interpret the question. If you think “all” means “this map represents every state that”, then you are right, they were incorrect.

If you instead interpret “all” to mean “all the states that are highlighted have this characteristic”, then Pew is OK, because all the states highlighted DO have that characteristic — and so does at least one other state.

The more serious problem with that question is that some of the highlighted states don’t technically allow “same-sex marriage”, I think a couple of them are “civil union” states instead.

Once I realized that the graph showed half the population was under age 10, I knew it could not be any of the gentrified countries listed, so that left Nigeria. Scary population graph.

I’d love to see one of China, to see if their population can be identified by a too-large “male” side.
