It's a trick question. By throwing the word historical everyone was lost.
The question should have been "what was the purpose of the declaration of independence?"
I bet scores would have jumped right up to 50%.

Wow, this is so easy to teach. In my Montessori school, we show the 5-year-olds a copy of the Declaration and tell them this is a letter to the King telling him we didn’t want him to be our king anymore because we wanted to be FREE.
The kids get it because even at 5, they understand wanting to be free.

Parents don't stand a chance, when liberal union teachers have control of their children 4 times as long as parents have them at home. Specially under age 10, when their reasoning facilities begin develop, as well as their internal BS meter.
Actually, the main demographic for American Idol is 18-49, so a lot of the younguns aren’t watching it. However, just because they aren’t learning in school the basics, doesn’t mean they aren’t learning. They are well versed in contraceptives, homo lifestyle and all other perverse things from the DemonRAT playbook.
