“And just where would you suggest that all 16 million of us go!”

Well, please don’t come up to Washington. We’ve been californicated enough already.

You could sell your house in California and live in a small mansion in most other states.

Instead of simply ending the tax incentive going forward, the state Franchise Tax Board has ordered investors who used the tax break to pay five years of back taxes. As a special insult, these taxpayers may have to pay interest and penalties on the "unpaid taxes" they were never required to pay in the first place. So the politicians promise tax favors for investment, but when the courts invalidate the favors the politicians punish the folks who did what the politicians asked them to do.

As predicted the government of California can be categorized at the same level as "loan sharks."

Where I used to live you could borrow money quite easily, but you never seem to be able to close the loan by returning all the money you borrowed over and over again.

The state is being run by gangsters and thugs, with their "Alice in Wonderland" rules and laws! Instead of continuing to destroy small businesses, perhaps they should start to shake down the Hollywood types.

“Texas, its a terrible place, please do not come to Texas.”

You have that right, the more than a dozen times i’ve been in Texas i couldn’t get my ass out fast enough!!

I’ve been in most of the US and there isn’t one place I would consider living in.

We’re going to stay in Southern California until we die.

I cannot be guilty of violating a law that didn’t exist at the time I supposedly violated it.

similar with retro taxes going back more then a year. the financial books for those years are closed, returns are filed and finalized. expecting me to pay more is funny... and if I don’t, what law did I violated? oh... one that didn’t exist. therefore, no charges can be brought.

tell them to shove it and force them to the supreme court. then counter sue for costs, damages due to lost business, and stress.

funny comment for someone from CA... the only state I’ve ever seen that encourages homelessness as a way of life (san francesspool)

CA is one of the most backward states. if it weren’t for the tech sector, CA would have gone the way of Detroit years ago (you’re working on it tho)

And just where would you suggest that all 16 million of us go!

Conservatives are welcome in Texas and Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, South Carolina, Louisiana, and other similar states.

Liberals can rot in California.

Go back to your doublewide and fry something!

Now that's just not nice. I could snarkily respond with a Starbucks barrista-custom coffee drink, but unfortunately, I'd be also dissing myself.

Georgia should also be off Kalifornistanian’s list. We are all inbred hicks, shoes are in short supply, we make moonshine and tote blunderbuss flintlocks to protect our double-wides (which is the height of Georgian architecture), we are often married to our cousin (hey, she’s a hottie, what can I say?)...

....and one final thought and warning:

Squeal. Squeal like a pig.

To Kalipornians: Not Texas, its a terrible place, please do not come to Texas.

Second that. It's hot. It doesn't rain for months at a time. Mosquitos will carry off small children and dogs.

Go anywhere that you want. CA was headed for the pits over 30 years ago, anyone could see that much. I’d bet my life that 90% of those whining about things have not bought a home or set up a biz there longer ago than 30 years. :-) It is quite obvious that you know that I am correct. If you COULD fight the decay, it would not have happened in the first place. So just stay there, keep on funding the enemy and keep on whining.

“Now that’s just not nice. I could snarkily respond with a Starbucks barrista-custom coffee drink, but unfortunately, I’d be also dissing myself.”

Go ahead! I wouldn’t visit a Starbucks if you paid me. It’s just lousy coffee “imported from Seattle.” Starbucks is the Mickey D’s of coffee. As far as whining is concerned, I am not whining about anything except the fact that there are people like you who take pleasure in making snide comments about California. In truth, all states, to one degree or another, have their share of Liberalism with which to contend. While things may be better, to a degree in the states you name, they are nowhere near free from the threat of Liberalism. Take Texas as an example: Besides being a lousy place climate-wise, they have this a$$hole pseudo conservative Cornyn for a Senator and will likely return him to the Senate for another term. We have two useless bitches in the Senate, but as least we as conservatives don’t vote for them, ever. Then there’s that “fabulous Texas conservative” Ross Perot who, in addition to giving us eight years of slick Willie, now is funding Planned Parenthood down there in Texas. So flame away about CA, but you know deep down that the same $hit that we have here is in the process of infecting those states and unless you do something, in the end, they will be just like we are. Maybe by that time, CA will have gone bust and have been forced to elect responsible people and on its way back to prosperity.
P.S. Kudos to Texas for electing Ted Cruz. I’d vote for him over all the others for President, given the opportunity.
