I get condolences for being with him, or get lectured on being careful of the company I keep... ;-)
We all have a good time in fellowship and praying for each other, the church, our community, the schools and their staff, the kids, etc.
Let's say I stand out like a bright star on a dark night. No one cares. We pray with our eyes closed, so maybe we don't notice each others' skin color...

Because I detest lazy people who feel they are entitled to my hard earned money. That unfortunately leaves only a small pool of blacks that could be my friends. If I eliminate those blacks that hate whites, the pool shrinks even further. Whats left is just a small percentage of blacks that can be my friends which means they have to like hockey, classical music, and Benny Hill. I have yet to find someone with black skin that likes what I like. But hey, Im always open to anyone being my friend, skin color not important.

I wonder what opinion the "enlightened" author might have on the overwhelming black on white crime statistics were he asked?
Very stupid article. For one thing, IMNVHO, it completely ignores the class structure. Economically responsible, educated people of all the races tend to pal about together from time to time. Common interests, etc. etc. Lawyer to lawyer. Brain surgeon to brain surgeon, after races at the Yacht Clubsort of thing.
But lower middle class Negroes may be bound by language and culture and thus may tend to associate less with white people in their socio-economic bracket because they don't share a common customs.
As for lower end white people and lower end Negroes, the gulf separating social customs seems immense. Would you invite some dread-locked asshole with his droopy shorts exposing his boxers to dinner at your place? What are you going to talk about? His Baby Mammas? His prison record? The better classes of black people won't be inviting him either, so you needn't get all guilt-trippy about it. Although I must say, as time goes on lower class white people seem to adopt many lower class black customs, social mores, and even dress.
So, in his next fatuous article maybe the author will report on growing friendships between the delinquents of all races.

This write-up was designed to put white people on defense and look foolish. They are hoping to reinforce the “I’m not racist, I have a black friend.” phrase that has become a joke for the leftist elite.

Exactly. Race talks from Liberals are always one-sided lectures filled with double standards.
If black people have no white friends, it’s OK.
If white people have no black friends, it hints at racism.
If black people don’t have white friends, it’s white people’s fault because white people aren’t worth the bother.
If white people don’t have black friends, it white people’s fault for not trying hard enough.

To answer the author’s question, perhaps it’s because I have no interest in basketball.
Horse hockey. Over the past few years my neighborhood has become a melting pot. Surprisingly, I have not had a problem with that. My chief concern is that of rental properties that dot the area.
My list of friends cover the races and a few nationalities. I chose my friends by the continent of the character and I trust them to treat me likewise.
Those that say they are excluded should look inward. There is probably a problem that exists between their ears.
