Yes, the Marigny is bordered on one side by the Quarter, and on the other by the Upper Ninth Ward (a black neighborhood).
The truth is that even blacks in NOLA - the many who are honest and hardworking - fear the criminal rampages of this feral underclass.

"I thought about calling the cops, but the last thing I want to do is racially profile a little kid who's just biking,"

This is what we've become. PC is killing us.

It's only human nature.

They can say anything they want.
Now it goes to the grand jury at a minimum.
Sounds like NOLA PD wants to by pass that and charge the home owner formally which is a grave PC miscarriage of justice.

The home owner lives another day.
If he is well within his rights and it was a normal political environment he would appear before a grand jury locally and he would be acquitted no charge.

We know this is not the current environment.
He can still get justice, but I predict it will cost Mr Landry dearly and financially.
It aint right, but that is the National neighborhood today thanks to Obama and Holder blurring the law.

No Sir. The law is not dependent on the news cycle.
I am just saying this will make things more difficult for Mr Landry and this could be potentially dangerous to all of us in this political environment.

The general winds seem to be on the side of reason and the law, but we have recently seen the unreasonable, and THEY are in the catbird seat.

All I am saying is be clear and concise.
Do not give them any fodder if you can help it.

the boy professional thief made a "move, as if to reach for something" -- possibly a weapon -- so Landry shot him, the warrant states.

Well, given the circumstances, that's reason enough to shoot him. The cops do it all the time, are trained to do it, and it's ALWAYS been ruled justifiable, afaik.

Bottom line, it was his own fault. So what if he was shot in the head and as a result his IQ drops by half? What's that, a couple dozen points? WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE (given his chosen profession)?

I think that if you're considering the overall legal environment when defending yourself with deadly force, you probably had no need to use deadly force to begin with. But that is side show stuff.

Reading through the comments on the multiple stories on NOLA’s website, even those who are deluded about Zimmerman's lawful use of deadly force see this as being much different; the perp was in the process of committing a felony, at someone’s home, in the middle of the night. And while the newspaper is trying to cash in on the whole Zimmerman story by propping up their own ‘Zimmerman’ moment, it really isn't flying with the readers.

I think the shooting and killing of Chris Cervini in Greece, NY by Roderick Scott fits your scenario. Scott got off.
If that doesn’t work try Carl Rowan’s rational: Gun Control Controversy Section. (On the plus side, Rowan did not shoot the girl who was skinny dipping in his pool.)

Of course, there is a real possibility/s that neither scenario will succeed for the White guy in New Orleans for the obvious reasons.

One does need to be aware of the law at all times but when it is life and death you can be sure the law is on your side, this Zimmerman trial aside,
But what we see here is Obama and Holder and just how badly they have damaged the legal process with Zimmerman.

They have fomented mob mentality over the rule of law.
There is NO Doubt in my mind that Obama is a trojan horse.

You are missing out on the glory of the “Sharing” experience LOL

Apparently this punk thought Mr Landry was sharing with him.
