I am confused. My discussion of my father’s work in education, and the bitter truths learned from it, are hardly “nice.” And the “ideas” mentioned are not original to me. They are just the same old natural law principles that worked pretty well for us for at least a couple of centuries. What could you possibly be referring to then? Oh wait, perhaps you have simply chosen a too clever by half way of not responding at all. Works for me. If nothing is what you’ve got, why not flaunt it? :)

...Perhaps this was a regional thing, but the blacks often sucked air through their teeth as a wordless expression of disdain or hostility.”

Picked up on that a long time ago. I just do it louder. Always remember that if you're white, you are despised. You can be treated civilly on occasion, but you're never liked.

Your father’s principles are nice in the sense that they made sense in the context of the past two centuries, when folks were so much more idealistic than now. To me, that’s “nice.”

Yes, you’re correct to point out that they worked “pretty well” for centuries. Clearly, however, such adherence to principle won’t work today, when no one - but no one - thinks of principles at all, only cash, privileges, perks, and political/social power.

Sorry to be so obscure; I was under the impression that I was writing quite clearly. If you don’t get it, then perhaps you should give it a little more thought; it’s not rocket science, genius.

The theory you presented is interesting in that it seems to accurately describe what is being reported about black neifgborhods;-a sort of Darwinian selection!

Oh I didn’t think you were obscure. I just think you didn’t really defend your original premise at all, and that’s what confused me. You originally stated, in so many words, that you did not think multi-racial society was feasible. When I responded with hard evidence your premise was wrong, you did not refute the evidence, you trivialized it. In the courtroom, that goes down as a non-responsive answer.

So just to be clear, let me say it again. Your premise, that multi-racial culture cannot work, is defective on several levels, and is categorically disproven by my father’s experimental education work, which strongly suggests that the root cause of the present racial conflict is remediable because it is inherent, not in the fiction of race, but in the reality of long-standing political manipulations, all of which can be reversed.

But rather than defend your premise, you deflect me with yet another indefensible assertion, that all principle is gone and therefore (though you don’t say this, you do infer it) we should abandon any appeal to principle as a basis for reform. Yet you disprove this premise with your own words. Why are you here, now, debating me? According to your own absolutist terms, it must be for “cash, privileges, perks, and political/social power.” You allowed for nothing else. So I have to ask, is someone paying you to argue with people like me? What privilege or perk are you gaining through this conversation? Are you seeking political or social power over me or someone else by presenting your position here? Or do you simply believe this SR character on the internet is wrong, and you are duty bound to set him right? See, you *do* have principles. You disprove your own thesis.

And if you allow yourself to be the one exception in the world, why should there not be two, ten, or a million such exceptions? I know my dad was one, and I know there are others like him (I’ve never personally known anyone as committed to principle as him, even after he was shafted by Daley and Jackson). The entire Tea Party movement is a reaction of principle against a cynical political class that has lost its moral compass. Nietzsche was wrong. Not everything resolves to a raw, meaningless power struggle. There is a God in Heaven who sets His truth in the hearts of all people. Reform is possible. Multi-racial society is possible.

The point is, you have made a statement that cannot be logically or experimentally defended, that multi-racial society cannot work, but you have not defended it. You merely used ridicule to trivialize hard evidence that it can in fact work. But it can only work if we systematically attack the false premises of progressivism and its corollaries, and return to the stern reality that individual success and failure must always be based on individual merit, which principle is no more “nice,” and no more avoidable, than gravity.
