No wonder he is out of town for this trial. He wanted to be as far away as possible but the state still found him and made him testify. I’ll bet he was even tweaking stuff at his end so as not to testify.

Not exactly true. She ruled they couldn't mention it in their openings - she will rule on using it during the trial on a case-by-case basis.
This “judge” and prosecutor have done all sorts of things “for the Hell of it,” so nothing would surprise me at this point.

This is my understanding as well...I may have missed something, but what can she possibly testify about that would be pertinent to the case?? If she’s to testify to the deceased’s character...doesn’t that open the door??

Right so not sure what the prosecution is going with this other than “Gee he lied” but maybe he jsut forgot or doesn’t know the law inside and out? I would like to see anyone else from that class to see if it was really taught “in detail” even though the law is new and wasn’t even in the class text book.
Or if in any mid term or final exam, a graded question was included to
show that students understood it , and could pass the test.
