Oh and btw, I see Capital One is still using Baldwin commercials. Wasn’t he the honkster who supposedly used the N-word recently?
I was shocked. I thought shed get a fair trial, Wilson, a nurse from Jacksonville, Fla., said Saturday”
Idiot. Using racial slurs isn’t a crime and I’m damned sick of this. If you belong to a “protected class” you can damn well say whatever you want, but if you don;t you are held to a different standard.
This PC crap is totally out of hand.
On the other hand, an employer should be able to fire someone for any reason.
No one knows if that is true. The Food Network hasn't had the opportunity to explore whether that is/would be the case or not. They jumped on any excuse they could find to dump her.
IMO, it will ultimately cost the Food Network much more than it will cost Paula Deen.
vaudine
Mrs. L says that this is like masturbation. If you say you’ve never done it, you’re lying.
Life if you are white and 1.5 seconds if non-white.
Not sure I agree. What somebody does and says on their own time is covered by the Bill of Rights. As long as a crime was not involved and it wasn’t done on company time, they should NOT be able to do this.
If they can fire her for her legal speech out of the workplace, they can fire us for using FreeRepublic.
“I, two years ago, had to fire my best friend (of over 30 years) for making the same racist remark while in my employ.”
You were not his friend at all.
I absolutely was and still am. I provided employment, the salary from which he used to raise his family and provide a good life for them all. He was well aware of my beliefs and the lack of tolerance for certain issues. And he put me in the position of having to do it - a fact that he acknowledged even while we were discussing his departure. He, to this day, apologizes because he knows I lament the lack of his talents at my company.
But it is the only reason the media is bothering to cover the story.
Well, here you are again Norm......just gotta throw that hate out dontcha? Politics is your life, you live it, you sleep it, and people be damned if they hold opposing political views such as yours........
It must suck being you Norm, how many ex-friends are in your history simply because they were liberals?
Better yet, how many friends do you have left at all Norm?
Wow, your commitment to friendship is pretty tenuous if you would do that. If I knew that and I knew you, I would not count on you in a difficult situation.
In a million years I would have never subjected my best friend to the treatment you dished out. Ever hear of a warning ? The left just sits back & laughs, really, why do they need to do any of the dirty work since most so-called conservatives are well-trained to do it for them.
It’s your company & your rules, so go to it, but you are no best friend in my book.
So what exactly is your issue with my statement?
I don’t come here to make friends. Perish the thought I talk politics on a board that exists to talk politics. And no, it’s not easy being me. But I’m good with it. Don’t much care if you are.
There is not all that much to explore as the Food Network seems rather confident that most American companies do not want their product associated with a woman who thinks that slave themed wedding are a jolly good ole time.
Who had a “slave themed wedding”?
Maybe in the sadomasochism crowd, but no redneck with any dignity would do this.
