You may have seen 20 Million Years to earth when it was called Quartermass and the Pit. The ancient Martians were Locust like creatures and quite demonic.

Ditto, here. We had a lot of those movies, but to my knowledge, the theater is still intact. Complete with gum under the seats and spilled soft drinks to sticky up the floor...

I can’t tell you how I have dreaded this inevitable day. When I was a kid, I wanted to BE Ray Harryhausen. Although his repertoire was small compared to some filmmakers, he occupies a unique place in the history of movies. RIP, Ray.

I believe the Valley Forge was one of his creations.

Rest in peace Mr Harryhausen.
Just saw Mysterious Island last week on TCM. They did an interesting retrospective on Mr Harryhausen's work.

I loved those movies. This is my favorite, although I know Harryhausen wasn't involved:

Ditto what you said. I was all of 13 and modeled a Ymir bust out of clay and used my aunt's 8mm film camera that would expose one frame at a time. sadly the bright lights required melted the clay. I knew nothing about armatures and metal skeletons. I made a Giant octopus tentacle that grabbed a toy train car. Like you said,I wanted to be Harryhausen, but sadly had no real guidance. I hope TCM pays tribute to Ray.

If you’d asked me when I was twelve, I’d say that Jason and the Argonauts was the greatest movie ever made.
That’s what I told my mother when she picked me up afterwards.
