I remember that Obama said, “Nobody wants to get to the truth about what happened more than I do.” That was a long long time ago.. I wonder why it takes the POTUS so long to get to the bottom of something?

Obama and his acolytes couldn't get to the bottom of an empty paper sack if they had Sherlock Holmes pointing out which end is the bottom.

But If there was no “stand down order” to contravene, for what actions could the generals that wanted to rescue those in harm’s way have been relieved of their commands?

There was no “stand down” order because they were never requested to “stand up”. The important factor is the authorization of “cross border authority”. I am to guess it was requested by the military and was denied. This makes much of the impending action taken by our government during the recent hours of the attack mute.

"Who issued to the stand down order?"

A good lawyer never asks a question, the answer to which he doesn't already know. And if you believe someone's going to lie in answer to a question (typically being the answer he or she's already given in the discovery phase), you set it up so the jury will immediately see it for the lie it is, for maximum effect.
