Not really, but it’s not always suitable, and I don’t actually know why.

I had the procedure you’re talking about several years ago and it was mildly uncomfortable, but nothing more. A bit achy, the actual injection burned like a SOB for about 15 seconds if they pushed it in too quick or didn’t warm it in their hands first, but nothing I could remotely call serious discomfort let alone real pain.
