I thought that stuck out like a sore thumb too. I cannot imagine a tenured professor working for a whole year for a gross amount that after taxes would only pay for a low end new car with nothing left to buy gasoline. $3,333.33 monthly for a tenured professor? That ain’t squat.
Oh, now I see why she only had a $40,000. salary. It must have been $500. annually for each IQ point.
Very glad to see this "professor" (yeah, agree with above posters) was fired. We vacation in Brevard every Spring, although it's hard for us to get there (we drive from Ohio)...and we really enjoy the community there. This renews my faith in the "right stuff" - keep up the good work!!
Agree whole-heartedly. The trouble is with “tenure”, and school boards/trustees (even or maybe especially at the pre-college level) often don’t even try to remove “educators” like this woman, simply because of the cost of resulting lawsuits. There is always someone who can excuse the most egregious behavior as “really, no big deal”, just “creative education”...
You're right...too bad the "media" and other regular people don't understand these academic distinctions, because words do mean things!!
She may have acquired some sort of "tenure", and she may have impeccable academic credentials for teaching Math despite her other shortcomings, but in any case, a full-time professor would not make $40K per year.
Ms. Sweet is a "professor" just like Mr. Obama and Ms. Warren were/are "professors"...IOW, NOT!
