If I were Boehner, I'd say; meet you at the debt ceiling, where you will receive nothing. We're shutting it down, shrinking government until it's to a size of our liking. Republicans will be hated for a while, but soon looked upon as the saviour of the country and the world since we brought you, you as*hole to your Waterloo.

Let it burn! The producing class can hold off earning extra income to pay their taxes longer than the free stuff class can do without their food stamps, birth control pills and Obamaphones.

So what? Obama can't tell the truth and Boehner can't or won't stand up to the lies.

I don't really care anymore what these two mental midgets tell each other and the media.

Boehner needs to stop acting like the battered wife here and tell this sociopath to stuff it.

The Republicans better start getting in front of some microphones every damned day and start controlling the narrative on this.

I agree that they should “shut Obama down” but they had better be prepared to impeach him because he does not intend to stop spending regardless of whether they appropriate any funds or not.

Boehner should never have met, let alone bargain w/ Ø.

Fact is that the house is popularly elected for a reason, it is the most responsive wing of govt to the people w/ 2-year election cycle and 435 members, and therefore by design all revenue bills ORIGINATE in the house.... not via some back room executive negotiation. By meeting w/ Ø, he was being handed more power than Constitutionally warranted. Boehner’s first promise was to let the house work as advertised - there are committees and sub-committees where budgets, appropriations, revenue and so on are planned and formed into bills. KEEP IT WITHIN the house where it belongs, then, and ONLY THEN, ship it off to the Senate. Reed (sicK!) and Ø can do as they like after that. If they don’t like it, they can shove the bill where the sun don’t shine.

The GOP will be blamed for everything no matter what Boner does, that’s how the left controls the GOP, only the GOP has not figured that out yet, or probably does not care.

This is a threat? He was going to do that anyway. Screw him. The best thing the GOP House can do at this point is to take his damn checkbook away from him. Don’t raise the debt ceiling, and watch him squirm. You wanted $100 billion in spending cuts? Refuse to raise the debt ceiling, and you will get over ten times that.

The way you deal with a shithead like the Bamster is you wear a wire. You record the petulant shithead's words and you march out of the Whorehouse with a smile on your face and you make sure it is heard by anyone who listens to anything.

As far as the Inauguration and the SOTU is concerned you make sure that no elected Republican attends. I would love to see a SOTU without 1 Republican in the building while shithead talks about all of his bipartisan efforts to do whatever it is (I really don't know) he does.

Does anyone think 0bamugabe will praise Boehner and/or the GOP, other than in a backhanded way to demagogue something, no matter what they do? Is four years of his behavior not enough to get the picture?

Mr. Obama repeatedly lost patience with the speaker as negotiations faltered.

The saddest part is that Obama is the world's worst negotiator...

Boehner told the president, “I put $800 billion [in tax revenue] on the table. What do I get for that?”

...Except for John Boehner.

Should there be any more doubt that Boehner is not dealing with good-faith negotiators? Why does he continue to act as if the other players are dealing straight with him?

Boehner was "smoked out" by Pelosi, and now it's personal with him because he was so publicly humiliated. The "Plan B" fiasco was a vote of no-confidence for Boehner. He can't be trusted to make rational decisions anymore.

It's time for a new Speaker.

“he told Mr. Boehner that if the sides didn’t reach agreement, he would use his inaugural address and his State of the Union speech to tell the country the Republicans were at fault.”

Let the Commie say whatever he wants. In a way it is the Republican’s fault. They agreed to this POS fiscal cliff deal last year. It does not matter what the GOP does they will still get blamed so why not just do the right thing and let the chips fall where they may.

If the US House of Representatives had simply brought the Bush tax cuts to the floor and voted to extend them for a year or better yet make them permanent and then adjourned and gone home the Dems would just have had to stew in their own juice during the holidays. Now if we go off the cliff Obama will immediately start calling for tax cuts for the middle class and strong arm the pubbies into going along with it and hiking taxes on the rich.

The one thing the Republicans never learn is just to argue for the conservative small govt point of view and vote accordingly.

Boner is a jerk.

There wouldn’t even be a fiscal cliff if he hadn’t helped Obama and Reid set it up.
