Newport News, Virginia here.
No line at my precinct that Bush won by 20 points and McCain won by 3 points. I also voted at 7:30 and was voter number 346 (polls opened at 6:00), which might not be bad. They also had 8 booths and normally only have 2 and I have never in the past encountered a line either. There are huge lines being reported in York County (very republican), Chesapeake (very republican), and Virginia Beach (usually slightly republican but swung for Obama in 2008). Not sure if Bammy’s people are showing up as I haven’t seen any reports in the black precincts, but Romney’s difinitely are. I think we are going to carry Virginia.
I want to see some posts about no lines at all in most of the Dem districts and polling places.
Good news anecdote: Avondale, Cincinnati city precinct at 8:15am I was the 83rd person voting. This is 99.9% democrat area.
The elderly woman in front of me said “they didn’t expect a heavy turnout”...
I consider the turnout sparse by then, and recall in 2008 at 6:15am I was like the 200th person in line!
Also, only 2 people were at the table, 2 floaters; in 2008 they had 6.
Might just get out later and drive by some of the polling places and get a first hand look. This area seems to be heavily Republican. Very few Commurat signs.
Mitt Romney will be the 45th president & he will be one of the best presidents we have ever known. And Ann will be a FLOTUS that will make us all proud.
The first president I voted for was Ronald Reagan...and today I take with me my two sons, who are voting for the first time, to vote for Mitt Romney. I am so happy, so excited & so proud!
Voted early this morning to avoid the line tonight. Was #3 in my precinct (rural precinct, roughly 600 registered voters), but got there at 6:15. When I walked out at 6:35 line was 20 deep.
More Tweets:
Lots of Tweets from “People” who only seem to follow Barack Obama. Why is that, do ya think?
“If Romney gets elected, the world is screwed.”
I’ve seen this one repeated 20+ times by the same type of “people”:
If Mitt Romney win we all might as well pick teams for the hunger games.
From your keyboard to God’s ears, fedupjohn!
My wife and I will second your vote very soon. The town I’m in was wall-to-wall 0b0z0 against Hitlery in the 2008 primary. There was a celebration when 0h0m0 won the primary and a bigger one when he won the presidency.
Today, a couple of 0kaka/Bite me signs here and there!
fedup melancholy!
This just in from the local media:
According to the Newport News Registrar’s Office, the wrong Newport News precinct ballots were opened at BC Charles. The problem has since been corrected and the location is open for voting, according to the office.
If you experience voting problems like this, please email us at ReportIt@wavy.com.
This is a very republican precinct. Hopefully everyone who showed up to the closed precinct has time to go back now that it is open.
A white reporter with some stones should slip on a Romney/Ryan shirt and try to walk past the pampers into the polling place...gauge the reaction. (Of course, if the reporter isn’t ‘taken out’, remember to turn that shirt inside out...don’t want to get called out for electioneering.)
God bless everyone here for voting for LOVE OF COUNTRY (and a little revenge against O haha).
I am in Georgia where it is assumed Romney will win. It is raining hard in my area. I have injuries from a recent car accident and cannot drive.
I am still going to walk the mile and a half to my polling precinct today and pull the lever for Mitt Romney. Proudly.
We are the broken glass people - the other side has nothing.
We will win today.
Off to vote in Minnesota. Will vote a straight conservative ticket. We have work to do.

One word to describe Romney turnout today: “Chick-fil-A”
Voted early this morn in PA (Philly suburb). Long line at 7am.

Go RomneyRyan2012....save us from 4 more years of hell!
Let there be a LANDSLIDE just for emphasis as we throw Obama out!

Avondale? Good Lord man did you go to the poll wearing a bullet proof vest? ;-)
Josh Kraushaar Tweet:
Overall, early vote turnout OH up 2.44% in state. Down -4.1% in Obama/Kerry counties; up 14.39% in Bush/McCain counties.
