If the republicans wanted to make a statement, Boehner and McConnell would get every stinking one of them out of the House and the Senate and gather them on the steps on the Capital, making speeches and repeatedly calling for Obama to cooperate for 2 hours.
Invite all the press. Promise them whatever it takes to get coverage.
I agree with Ty Wood’s father, it’s a case of his son’s “MURDER.” Even the schmucks in Congress know that the American people and our military are outraged!!!
It’s all political, you are right.
But both campaigns have figured out that wishy washy undecided voters (translation: some 27 year old unemployed law school grad working at Starbucks who plays Halo until 3 am) don’t really care.
They also know that normal Americans who are driving their kids to soccer practice in a minivan, before going home to cook dinner and pay the bills online don’t have time.
Nobody in Ohio is going to vote against Obama because of one week. 4 years of failure is a better sampling.

YOU get it! It is a precarious time between now through the election on the 6th, but congress saying nothing is pure politics and frozen fear of shaking the race, making a mistake that might be used against only the Republican ticket in a razors edge final few days and hours.
This may be why they elected to use a small force of three, McCain, Ayotte and Graham. These two senior members are perhaps better tolerated by the opposition in congress. This is but a guess, but I resent that it always seems to be camera hog McCain and Tonto with their new drag-along, Kelly Ayotte.
