Why would R&R throw their money at Texas?

Additionally, Romney has pretty much won the white male vote and your programming is demographically male.

I’m in CA and can’t say I’ve seen any ads by either candidate. Maybe it’s cuz this state is a lock for The RAT-in-chief.

Maybe after a bad month or so after the DNC the donations have been down, and maybe after this debate the donations will pick up.

It’s your location. I’m in New York, and I have not seen any ads from either candidate.

No, tons of ads hitting the swing states this week.

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2012/10/05/romney-campaign-and-rnc-spending-12-million-this-week-on-ads/

Excerpt:
“Washington (CNN) - Mitt Romney’s campaign and the Republican National Committee are together spending just over $12 million for television ads in nine battleground states this week, according to a Democratic ad-buying source.

The Romney campaign itself bought $7.7 million worth of ad time in those states running from Wednesday until next Tuesday while the RNC is spending $5.05 million for commercials to support the Republican nominee on the airwaves.”

Colorado: $650,000 (RNC only)
Florida: $1.6 million (Romney only)
Iowa: $1.33 million (Romney: $670,000; RNC: $660,000)
Nevada: $660,000 (Romney only)
New Hampshire: $240,000 (Romney only)
North Carolina: $1.46 million (Romney: $900,000; RNC: $560,000)
Ohio: $3.15 million (Romney: $1.78 million; RNC: $1.37 million)
Virginia: $2.63 million (Romney: $1.43 million; RNC: $1.2 million)
Wisconsin: $1.05 million (Romney: $440,000; RNC: $610,000)

You’re in Texas, right? Is there even the slightest hint that Obama will carry Texas?

Romney is smart enough to get maximum return on his campaign dollar so he’ll spend it in swing states or anywhere he thinks he has a chance at picking up a state. He’s not worried about Texas.

Obama is used to wasting other peoples money, so he’ll blow it anywhere, including Texas.

He loaned it all to the Obama camp so they could roll it and snort blow.

It appears to be rather effective, don’t you think?

He has been focusing on swing states. I’ve read a lot from others in those states that he is hammering them hard.

Romney will likely win 60% of the vote in Texas

Unless you’re in a swing state or a media market shared with a swing state, don’t expect to see anything on cable or in any slots that are sold by a local station.

I’m guessing closer to the election we’ll see some national media buys, but they’ll be fairly thin, compared with “saturation bombing” in the swing states, and targeted on the demographic of the show they run in.

Anyone seeing more in swing states?

...also consider the media buys we have here. If it is a local buys like KETK, KLTV, etc, they don’t have a lot of reach and isn’t really needed. Locally we went something like 80% for Bush in 2004 and 75% for McCain in 08. There aren’t too many to convince here.

I’ve seen several Obama ads during breaks in the baseball playoff games on TBS.
Nothing at all from Romney.

Here in Colorado the ads appear about 4 times an hour, we are swing state and the polls are showing Romney building a lead!

From your profile it appears you are in TX. How much money would you like the Romney campaign to waste in TX?

I spoke with a friend in FL before the debates who was concerned about the dearth of Romney ads. He texted me in the last couple of days to ignore that conversation, that the floodgates opened up after the debates.

I suspect it is the same in other key swing states. Romney and his people are pretty darn smart and aren’t going to be wasting money.

” - - - The most recent, today, was a rebuttal to the debate - - - “

What you saw was a DEFENSE ad: in politics, when you are explaining you are on defense.

Romney, as coached by the debate consultants is the real Romney.

Romney, as coached by his Campaign staff is a disaster.

Why Romeny does not fire his Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaavud “Top” Advisors is beyond me, unless he is determined not to win.

Thanks for this thread. Your $ question is a great one.

RINO Mind Meld ignores the fact that 35 % of Voters this year will have a chance to vote early. Many have already sent in their marked ballots.

RINO Mind Meld still assumes that “people really don’t decide who they are going to vote for until 24 hours before the election.” Many have already voted.

RINO Mind Meld finds comfort is losing by being really, REALLY stupid, politically. Witness RINO Poster Boy Lame-Brain McCain. He is still on TV and still offering advice.

The last report I saw, sometime in the last week, is that Obama is out-collecting and out-spending Romney by significant amounts.

That was in a post here on Free Republic.

Sack Ed Gillespie and the Bush cronies on the Romney Campaign Team. Reince Priebus, RNC Chair is worse that useless. Rats always fight in the trenches, blood and guts. The Republican bluebloods have no clue.
