I have gone back to Fall 2008 post many times and it's a very similar story, “The polls are not real. McCain will crush Obama”

I remember those days... I wanted to believe that McCain would indeed crush Obama. However, it sure didn't work out that way.

Yes, the economy sucks and the job numbers suck but Romney/Ryan have been running a campaign on nothing hoping that the bad economy will wash them into victory. The numbers wizard Ryan is forced to join Romneys ‘just look over there and vote for me, you can trust me to work out the details later’ campaign.

Meanwhile Obama and Dems have been destroying Romney for months going after his character and all Republicans characters making the case that it was they that created this mess and it was they who stopped all those great jobs bills and because they only care about the rich. There is no one responding to these attacks.

I agree. And we're running out of time...

Did you see this today? *sigh*

Rasmussen Daily Tracking Sept 10: O - 50%, R - 45%

Simple reason. There are more takers than givers in America. If they all go the polls we lose. And that is not dependent on the conservatism of our candidate.

Sadly, you are correct, FRiend.

RE :”I remember those days... I wanted to believe that McCain would indeed crush Obama. However, it sure didn't work out that way.....Did you see this poll today? *sigh*

thanks, the poll does not surprise me. I watched the DNC closely as I do every 4 years and they did a much better job at stroking emotions than rs did.

The day before 2008 election Monday Hannity is on this skit with Coulter and Waddell on his radio show about how the polls were turning big in McCain's favor and it was in the bag. By then I was truly skeptical that McCain could win at all, but it was the FNC Megan Kelly exit poll results (issue related questions) that told me that McCain would get trounced.

the day after I remember a few Republican women here (my state and FR) weeping telling me they would not watch TV for 4 years, they were so let down. yep, they believed all the polls were fake

Romney is running as the empty suit candidate running on nothing but ‘Obama is a nice guy but it hasnt worked out so trust me to do better’

At this state Romney's best shot is voter apathy due to Obama’s broken Hope and Dream promises. Romney must feed that. It is NOT 2008 and Obama is not fresh and new/.

I would also take every Obama quote defending his economy record and flip it to point out how Obama celebrates the dismal state of this country, while living the high life himself with his friends. Romney had one good commercial doing that. He needs to get voters to tune out Obama as they tuned out GHW Bush in 1992 and GWB in 2006. Stop playing it safe and dont do anything stupid. Use stuff you can defend when asked about it in interviews,

RE :”Did you see this poll today? *sigh*”

I used a different convention. Back when Rommney agreed to a debate with all liberal moderators it told me the Romney campaign knew they were not doing well regardless of much Republican pollyanna postings much prompted by Republican media.

A candidate in a strong position would be able refuse to debate unless he got what he wanted. Romney and CO thought that they needed the debates more than Obama thinks that he does.
Considering how bad things are vwith the economy and debt one would expect Obama to NEED the debates not Romney, much like GHW Bush needed them in 1992 when the Dem media mods at the debates ambushed him.

this is always a bad sign and I noted it at the time. Note that now even FNC (F+F) is been sounding gloomy lately talking about how it things are unfair, a really bad sign.

I will wager you $10,000 that conservatives will still be here fighting in 2016 regardless of who wins. And we will be stronger.

2006 was the fault of Bush the Dumbass. As to me I donated tens of thousands of dollars for his reelection and to elect a GOP Congress. He squandered it, and even attacked the Swift Boat Votes. When I say George W. Bush is a dumbass, I mean he is a complete dumbass.

George Bush and the bailout banksters like dumbass Paulson gave rise to 2008 for which the GOPe gave us dumbass McCain.

We are deluged by a rare run of complete dumbasses in the GOP, the Stupid Party.

2008 gave rise to 2010 and the Tea Party. The country is more conservative than ever and we still have power, power that is growing. The country will not be served by supporting the likes of Obama or Romney. They are cut from the same cloth.

The GOPe has given us 2012 and 2012 will give rise to 2014 and 2016 when our Tea Party will extinguish the GOPe and purge boot lickers like yourself from our ranks.

Note this is a conservative forum and not a Republican forum. To ask us to sell out to the likes of Romney means to abandon our conservative values; ain’t gonna happen.

In 2012, we’ll be content to take control of the Senate, strengthen our ranks in the House and importantly take control of even more statehouses.

Here’s where you belong, a website for you and like-minded Rombots:
