Well stated.
The graphic in Post 2 says it all.
Obama simply has to be defeated. I wish some people here would realize this. I’m sick and tired of being called a RINO simply for supporting the only candidate who has a chance of defeating Obama.
Exactly!
Thank you for your post.
Im looking for a massive crushing defeat, the biggest in American history, one that his father will feel
So how do I justify voting for the GOP and Romney this time around? Well, some things I do NOT believe about Romney is that he hates America, that he hates our capitalist system, that he wants to weaken our national defense, sell out our allies and reward our enemies. I don’t agree with nor support his religious faith. But his belief in the tenets of Mormonism is quite frankly between him and God. Now while it is easy to find all sorts of things about the Mormon faith that fly in the face of basic traditional Christianity, if the choice is between a closet-crypto Muslim in the White House, and a church going, charitable, prayerful Mormon who doesn’t cheat on his wife, doesn’t smoke dope, doesn’t even drink (is that true? I’m not sure but I think Mitt is a tee-totaler), I’m pulling the lever for that Mormon guy.
Government employees, government pensioners, government-connected business and environmentalist/animal-worshiping/man-hating NGO folks in my area are mostly in for Romney. But with either Romney or Obama, they win the remainder of the pile of debt and regulate the last of the real producers (families in small manufacturing and agriculture) out of business.
The Executive Order that the President has at his disposal can be a concern when making the choice of Obama/Romney. In the 2nd term even if the Congress isn’t of his party the President can use the EO to do things we don’t need or appreciate.
And either way, BTW, the socialist, political/regulator beast will be starved. It’s starving itself.
I hear ya.
When we are born, we are the ultimate ideological purists. We won’t eat what we don’t like, we cry when when things don’t go our way, and generally fail to understand that there is a world out there besides our immediate wants. Growing up is the process of realizing that life isn’t fair, and the best you can do is play the hand you’re dealt the most effective and intelligent way you can. Romney happens to be that poker hand at the moment.
I find your analogies to be flawed and won’t address them. What I will do is repost something I wrote to another FReeper on another post. This FReeper was denigrating Jim Robinson for refusing to vote for Romney. You haven’t done so, but you are making some of the same erroneous assumptions about the power of Ryan to hold Romney in check.
What follows is my previous post after quoting the person I was responding to:
It is ..... surprising to see Jim Robinson actively working to defeat Romney ... and doing that has the result of giving David Axelrod a free gift. If that doesnt shock a longtime Freeper, well, have nice day.
No, I am not shocked I am pleased to see such courage. Romney is NOT conservative. Romney will de facto be painted as the Conservative candidate by the MSM. Therefore, he will damage the brand Conservative by his future actions. It is quite possbile to discern those actions based upon his past actions. When Romney screws up, and he will, the brand of conservatism will suffer because most people arent wise enough to know that Romney is not conservative. This will hinder, possibly for a very long time, the chances of getting a real conservative as POTUS.
Once again, you imply that Jim Robinson (et. Al.) are giving support to the Dems by opposing the election of Romney. That is spin and an incorrect interpretation of what is going on. Also, it is insulting and denigrating. To protect conservatism from being maligned by a false conservative is an honorable and courageous thing to do. It is the only “correct” thing to do.
This stand has NOTHING to do with providing support to Obama, it is about protecting conservatism. You should stop saying or implying such a thing as Jim Robinson supporting Obama or his minions.
If one protects and insists upon true conservatism in a GOP candidate....that IS in the best long term interests of the country and the GOP. To sell out and support Romney for the pragmatic expediency of removing Obama does NOT fix the problem, it actually makes it worse.
No one disagrees that Obama is horrific...very horrific. However, if one compromises on bedrock principles (opposing abortion, opposing the Homosexual agenda) in order to get rid of him. Then they are using gasoline to put out a fire. It will not work, just make things worse. You will be replacing one wrong with another and do more damage in the process. Obama is evil, but Romney is NOT the answer to Obama.
I’ll just say: read the tag line.
MARK,I’M WITH YOU!!!!!
MARK,I’M WITH YOU!!!!!
MARK,I’M WITH YOU!!!!!
If Romney isn’t the answer to Obama, then who? And by that, I mean somebody with a reasonable chance to defeat him?
We aren’t voting our way out of this sh!t storm.
I’m concerned he may try to do all those things between now and Jan 20, 2013. Except Holder to the SCOTUS.
I’ll be interested to read Jim Rob’s reaction to this should he decide to post.
Good post mk.
