I remember they were saying that all the working out was a symptom of deeper mental problems..
This is a typical view with the Left, especially in Minnesota. Anyone over 30 who did more than the lowest common denominator routine was considered to have mental problems. It fell in line with the spew of “How dare you do better than mediocre”. Good Riddance to that garbage pile!
Definitely sounds genetic. If thats the case, all the exercise in the world wont help him.His father died at 55, grandfather at 57, and g-grandfather at 59, all from heart attacks. So it does seem genetic unless they were all heavy eaters/drinkers/smokers, etc. I carry around cayenne tincture from this company. It's been said to bring some folks out of a heart attack if administered right away. Who knows? It certainly would burn the heck out of your mouth so you could forget about the severe pain in your chest.. But after calling 9-1-1, I'd give it a shot if I was still breathing of course. :) Link
Here is an example of the liberal’s solution to staying in shape:
Multi-million dollar grants to teach 3rd graders to stay in shape. Then they will “teach” their families and communities about being healthy. THIS IS NOT A JOKE:
Moultrie-based obesity program earns $2.5M grant
8/10/12
“A University of Georgia researcher has won a $2.5 million federal grant for a community-based childhood obesity prevention program set in Moultrie.
The five-year grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture National Institute of Food Agriculture was recently awarded to Marsha Davis.
Davis is an associate professor in the College of Public Health’s department of promotion and behavior.
The obesity prevention program in Moultrie and Colquitt County, is meant to engage 600 third graders by including their families, schools and community. Davis’ goal is to give the children the practical skills they’ll need to be “change agents” for their families and schools.
The students will participate in a curriculum that promotes healthy eating habits and physical activity and teach them how to share the lessons they learn.”.....
My father (age 80) has far outlived his father (died at 66) and his siblings. They all had greasy grease diets, smoke and drank heavily, and no exercise (Dad’s a hiker - but he’s also the “black sheep of the family”. The only one of his siblings to finish high school, then went to college on the GI Bill, retired at upper management in a Fortune 500).
Dads a hiker..Good story! Is your dad still hiking some? And did he have the greasy diet too? Some folks can get away with it. Great functioning livers or something.. :)
Considering Ryan’s male ancestors having that propensity to drop dead of heart attacks in their mid-fifties, his devotion to fitness is understandable.
No, he avoided the greasy stuff. He’s no longer hiking as much, since his knees are worn out.
Maybe his “heart genes” came from his mom’s side and he’ll be the next Jack LaLanne.
I can hear the infomercial announcerette now; “Here’s former Vice-President and later President Paul Ryan. Mr. President, you just celebrated your 96th birthday, and here you are bench pressing my makeup girl, please tell America, what’s your secret?”
