A box of ammo a month spent at the range should be sufficient to insure most of those who come to collect my guns ... will leave in a body bag.

What Good Can a Handgun Do Against an Army.....? End The War on Freedom ^ | June 18, 2003 | Bill St. Clair

[excerpt]

A friend of mine owns an instructive piece of history. It is a small, crude pistol, made out of sheet-metal stampings by the U.S. during World War II. While it fits in the palm of your hand and is a slowly-operated, single-shot arm, it's powerful .45 caliber projectile will kill a man with brutal efficiency. With a short, smooth-bore barrel it can reliably kill only at point blank ranges, so its use requires the will (brave or foolhardy) to get in close before firing. It is less a soldier's weapon than an assassin's tool. The U.S. manufactured them by the million during the war, not for our own forces but rather to be air-dropped behind German lines to resistance units in occupied Europe. Crude and slow (the fired case had to be knocked out of the breech by means of a little wooden dowel, a fresh round procured from the storage area in the grip and then manually reloaded and cocked) and so wildly inaccurate it couldn't hit the broad side of a French barn at 50 meters, to the Resistance man or woman who had no firearm it still looked pretty darn good. The theory and practice of it was this: First, you approach a German sentry with your little pistol hidden in your coat pocket and, with Academy-award sincerity, ask him for a light for your cigarette (or the time the train leaves for Paris, or if he wants to buy some non-army-issue food or a perhaps half-hour with your "sister"). When he smiles and casts a nervous glance down the street to see where his Sergeant is at, you blow his brains out with your first and only shot, then take his rifle and ammunition. Your next few minutes are occupied with "getting out of Dodge," for such critters generally go around in packs. After that (assuming you evade your late benefactor's friends) you keep the rifle and hand your little pistol to a fellow Resistance fighter so they can go get their own rifle.

Or maybe you then use your rifle to get a submachine gun from the Sergeant when he comes running. Perhaps you get very lucky and pickup a light machine gun, two boxes of ammunition and a haversack of hand grenades. With two of the grenades and the expenditure of a half-a-box of ammunition at a hasty roadblock the next night, you and your friends get a truck full of arms and ammunition.

Tough talk. It's bullshit though.

A.) We are legion. Our government couldn't possibly hope to match our numbers. what, are they going to drive their tanks and armored APCs down main street, America and start shooting at people who might have firearms? I don't think so and if they did, that would certainly be the end of the US government and, more importantly, it is a certainty that the public debt would no longer be serviced in the event of such a civil war which opens up a whole new Pandora's box of problems.

B.)we are probably one of the, if not the strongest political forces in this country. The AARP has nothing on us. We basically control entire state legislatures in many states throughout this country as well as local law enforcement agencies and we're constantly gaining more power. As evidence, look at the direction that firearm legislation has moved over the past 10-15 years. Our influence clearly isn't waning. Quite clearly the opposite in fact.

C)We're not stupid. We know how to win and how to lose. We wouldn't fight their fight, they would fight ours and they would fight it in our backyards...and theirs.

come and take them if you have the balls to try.

I keep guns for them to take, and I won’t resist.

Here’s the deal. The US isn’t some little country, like say Cuba. There is one federal government, and fifty state governments. There is a lot of territory for Marines, and even the Army to cover, even in their armored vehicles, with all their technology. There are a lot of streets for them to roll down, and a lot of houses for them to search. There are a lot of guns they won’t get. We don’t have enough military to occupy the entire United States perpetually. That’s where things change. One knife can get one M-16, and an M-16 can get more, and on until others have armored equipment. But the people won’t be alone. Remember state national guards, and state police, and county police, and militarized forces that won’t all go along with a military overthrow of the United States? Remember the fall of the Soviet Union? One other thing to keep in mind. Neocons aren’t the only American citizens who won’t be happy about giving up their firearms. There are a lot of people from all political vents who don’t care to have their firearms pried out of their hands. It takes one hell of a military to disarm 100 million citizens with multiple arms, and then occupy that territory to make certain they have all the firearms. Once citizens decide they aren’t going to cooperate, that game is up.

The author is a corporate lawyer who ran away to the high desert of Mexico.

And no doubt a whiney, panty-wetting liberal. Neo-cons are hardly likely to own any gun, much less an AR. Neo-cons are socialist Jews who figured out in the late 60’s and early 70’s that they weren’t going to keep the US fighting Israel’s battles through the Democratic party, so they became “conservatives.” They have very little overlap with the domestic social issues of the GOP on gun control, abortion, etc.

I prefer to think of the brave souls in the Warsaw Ghetto who had but a few guns and held off the Nazi mechanized army for weeks. Imagine what a better armed and fed population would do.

No, the gun grabbing left would love to instill fear, but as long as people have their guns, the government will have great fear of the public. As it should be.

We have found out to our dismay that in pissant countries like Iraq, even the major powers get tired of being picked off by an angry population.

No, they’ll come for our guns, and we won’t be here. The battles will be at a time and place of our choosing, not theirs and it won’t be the way they imagine and it won’t be against whom they think they’ll be assaulting.

I’d prefer if they didn’t come at all and they would realize the error of their ways prior to something that cannot be taken back. First blood has already been drawn. Brian Terry is proof of that. Let that be the end of it. If the Government persists down this road they have chosen, we all lose.

The Government has no business dictating restrictions and other infringements of 2nd Amendment Rights on people. They are crossing the Rubicon by doing so. I fear that they will set foot upon the shore of no turning back. Once that happens, our nation is lost and war will rule the day. It will be a sad day for the Republic when that happens.

The author of the article seems to be under the impression that if the government orders the Army to be used against the people, the people will attempt to rise up and fight the Army.

That is nonsense.

The people will rise up and fight THE GOVERNMENT. Would you want to be delivering mail if the government is tyrannizing the people? Would you want to be a building inspector? A tax assessor?

Our Founders CAUSED their own monarchy to use its army against them. They did so by disobeying edicts which infringed fundamental human rights to freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly, and the right to keep and bear arms.

Rather than submit, they fought. When it made sense to do so, they stood shoulder-to-shoulder and fired multiple volleys at a superior force. In most cases, however, they located riflemen in the trees and picked off enemy officers. They attacked mercenaries on Christmas morning, defeating them handily after marching through ice and snow all night.

George Washington became the "Father of our Country" not by dying for his country, but by making the other SOB die for his country.

If, due to practical issues, I am forced to surrender my guns (lost recently in an unfortunate boating accident), I know where to find more. Every seargent's patrol car in Los Angeles has an assault rifle in the trunk. If the government arms the "Weather Service" that will make more arms available to the people.

“And where will that leave you except face down in a pool of your own blood [in] the middle of the street, just another dead fool resisting the State?”

On that day, Mr Karger will discover the power of the 3% of the gun owning populace that will neither submit or surrender. Like most liberal tyrants, Karger has no idea of the hell that would be unleashed on that day upon the minions of the gun grabbers.

Liberals only imagine a one dimensional war...where their intended victims die in place like dead fools should. Only war has many dimensions and to expect your enemy to react like you think he should is an invitation to an early grave.

The Kargers of the world will discover that it's time to feed the hogs.

There is no way the government can confiscate over 300 million firearms in the US.

The government is pretty incompetent at everything it does.

This is the same government that allowed over 13 million illegals to invade our country and won’t deport them because it wouldn’t be prudent to deport so many people.

The same thing applies to guns.

No public support for it and it is logistically impossible.

If confiscation takes place, it won’t be because of overt action, but a policy of attrition.

“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn't love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.” ― Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn

"When They Come For Your Guns, You Will Turn Them Over"

I would ask:

If the American people are simply going to hand over their guns then WHY all the petty gun control bans?

Why worry about "high capacity magazines" or "military style assault weapons"?

What are "they" so afraid of?

why haven't "they" collected all the guns already?

Here where I live, the cops are 0.2 percent of the population. Odds are not in the favor of the local cops. If the local cops side with the federals, their odd increase a little. Yes they have more fire power than the population, but most don't have the will to serve a dictator. At some point their lives and neighbors are worth more to them than their pensions. Paranoia is no way to go through life.

This Jim Karger clown has no idea what a neo con is. Neo’s are as gun shy as libs are. Most love gun control as in they would never own a gun. Think Bill Kristol and his dad who was a big time Neocon. I’m thinking this Karger guy just likes the sound of the word.
