No, I’m not shocked that LE would use anti personnel ammo. It’s disingenuous to claim it’s for target practice. I don’t buy match grade ammo for practice at the range. Hollow points to shoot at targets? If nothing else, they’re wasting my money.

Again, you are looking at ammo purchases as isolated from the bigger picture. A lot of this could very well be benign. But, that doesn’t make the other stuff tin foil hat material.

DHS, TSA et al are demonstrating an escalating level of belligerence towards American citizens *and* their Constitutional rights. Along with an obvious intent to control more and more of everything we do. That’s not internet paranoia. And it is a very substantial reason for citizen diligence as regards any actions of pretty much any federal agency.

IMO, a healthy skepticism of federal agencies is just that, healthy.

Seriously, does anyone think they can take over the country by going house-to-house-to-house doing dynamic entry raids?

Much of this ammo is not for offense .. it's for *defense*. Think about that for a moment and the gravity of the scenario may become self-evident.

Forget what is or isn’t a bullet, cartridge, whatever. Is there a Congressional oversight committee that can ask why the purchases are being made?

1. I am not hysterical.

2. I did not mention martial law.

3. The US Dept of Education does in fact have SWAT Teams.

4. What possible reason is there for an Education agency have for a para military function?

No, I do not feel threatened by them. But it appears to me to be an effort to insert this garbage into places where they are only training ground for those who support the Fraud named Obama.

This is standard practice to get weather-balloon-based data back to ground for analysis... how else to bust a balloon?

Paper targets? Any shooters here use JHP for target practice?

I do. As someone noted above, you want to practice with your carry ammo.

It's expensive, so I don't do it often (or in large quantities), but I do shoot JHPs at paper.

I have a stinky feeling that those 40,000 rounds are intended to be used on Us Climate change skeptics

So, 46,000 rounds and 500 targets.

Either they're planning to miss a lot at the range, or they aren't intent on punching paper.

I shoot off a magazine of my carry ammo sometimes myself but I wouldn’t call it practice.

Not referring to you, referring to those that think these guys could actually be front line troops in some kind of govt takeover. They are not trained to deal with that.
