A liberal friend of mine thinks Obama is being “hamstrung” by an uncooperative Congress and could become a lame duck President, through no fault of his own.
How to talk to a liberal if you must? And worst of all, she says she isn’t a Liberal but an Independent.

I’ve culled most of them from my roster of friends..family too. noone is above getting my axe....This one is an old college roommate and I love her.

But I don’t know if I can take this much longer. She’s going on about Wall Street and bankers being the problem lately.
Freepers, help!
Do I cut and run or try to ignore this part of her and keep the rest? Oh, and I’m not one of those cooperative wussy “okay, we won’t talk politics’ types.(her weekly suggestion but then she blathers on anyway)
This is about our country and our freedoms and I won’t be shushed.

Yes. If Romney is like Obama, he’s less of an Obama. Punishing all Americans with four more years of traitor Obama if Republicans do not pick a conservative candidate is too drastic a revenge or punishment. Thus it makes sense to vote for R+R in November. Also, Ryan is more conservative than Romney so that’s one more reason to vote for R+R.

It’s a hoot that the commie and thief tries to take credit for what our military does then tells businesses they didn’t build anything.

November can’t get here soon enough.

It is American versus Marxist. It is Romney versus Obama. It is that simple.

It is, indeed, that simple.

There are precisely two dots to connect.

And, if you do not prefer the American (warts and all), then you prefer the Marxist.

There are precisely two dots to connect.

You are absolutely right.
We have no choice. It’s Romney/Ryan or Omuslim completes the distruction of America.
It’s as simple as that.

I've been a reluctant supporter (of sorts) of Romney because of the glaring reality you stated; it's Romney or Obama - and all that a second Obama term threatens. I wasn't happy about such a narrow choice but, unlike the FReepers who view Romney as ideologically identical to Obama, a comparison I find to be tinfoil hat material, I figured that Romney, the business tycoon, would help the economy, if nothing else. Well that and the fact that he doesn't despise his country - because it is his country.

With conservative congressman Paul Ryan being chosen by Romney as his VP, I was able to feel a lot better about the GOP presidential candidate and decided that I wouldn't need 3 clothespins on my nose when I walked into the voting booth on November 6th. As you stated, there is no 'perfect' political candidate. Never has, never will be.

Those who delight in trashing Romney on a conservative website can do that until the cows come home and vote as they please, of course, but I'm voting Republican on November 6th and I'm relieved to see that some longtime FReepers I respect are coming to the same conclusion.

I expect a Romney-Ryan blowout on election day and now I feel more confident that ever about the election.

Put the past in the past in this case. There are many beautiful, conservative, hot, intelligent and smart (alphabetical order) women out there to make friends with!

I voted for Palin/McCain in 2008. Now it’s Ryan/Romney in 2012.

Lay out your political philosophy with clear and precise language, followed with a declarative statement that those views won't change.

Then tell her how much you value her friendship and then ask sincerely...now what do we do?

I had a long term relationship with a woman who was an absolute master at changing the subject. It got to where I knew she was doing it, but I let it go because I knew it was her way of telling me she “didn't want to talk about it” without saying I don't want to talk about it.

Right on right on right on. We will not survive another 4 years of Barack Obama. The anti Romney whiners need to get a grip.. and sooner rather than later.

Well said.

Many here on the right do not understand the concept of incrementalism.

The left lives by it. We did not come to the socialist marxist obama thug all of a sudden. Never would have happened if they would not have had Clinton and Carter types to lean a little more to the left with each new administration and congress.

I can be happy and patient that through R&R and hard work pushing strong conservative local candidates we can get our country turning right again, even if I've radius of the curve is not as sharp as we would all like.

Patience.

Baby steps.

"A liberal friend of mine"

Think about those words. They are repugnant aren't they? They came out of your mouth.

Provide no succor to the enemy. Cut all familial and social ties with liberals. Shun them. Burn the bridge. Don't even tell them why.

Your opinion scarcely matters, since you offer no real alternative. At this point attacking Romney is just shilling for Obama.
