The 14th Amendment to the U.S.Constitution has nothing to do with the eligibility requirement to be President.

Three types of citizenship are recognized by our government: native born; naturalized; and citizen-by-statute (also called derived citizenship). All have equal rights. All can serve in Congress, either as a Representative in the House, or as a Senator in the Senate.

Natural born Citizen is NOT a type of statutory citizenship as per the Federal Government. Natural born Citizen is ONLY an eligibility requirement for the U.S. Presidency per Article II, Section 1, clause 5, of the U.S. Constitution, and requires the President to be born in the United States (jus solis) AND of citizen parents (jus sanguinas).

The definition of natural born Citizen is found in the unanimous decision and holding of SCOTUS case Minor v. Happersett (1874). Virginia Minor sued to be listed as a candidate for the Presidency, claiming eligibility under the 14th Amendment. The Supreme Court never examined the 14th Amendment in this case, as Virginia Minor belonged to that class of citizens, natural born Citizens, born in the country of citizen parents.

No one has the RIGHT to be President. The eligibility requirement of natural born Citizenship (jus solis + jus sanguinas: born in the U.S. of U.S. citizen parents) must be viewed as a means to prevent split allegiance for any President of the United States.

As for the site you advocate, there was a concerted effort by radical Progressives to spread disinformation prior to the election of 2008. This is not to say that P.A.Madison is one of them, but there do exist many out there online.

I enjoyed what you posted to me and am in total agreement and have argued as such continuously, here and elsewhere, since I learned those FACTS in 5th grade. That was several decades ago, before the progressives had watered down our civics instruction to being almost meaningless.

I would be interested in your opinion of what P.A. Madison wrote, along with any points of disagreement.

My thanks for your post! Everyone should read it, especially those who have sworn an oath, yet don't fully understand what they are called upon to support and defend.
