Do not forget Sharon was AHEAD in the polls three weeks before the election. It would no have taken too much help from the GOP-E to push her over the top. It's absolutely galling to me that public figures (such as the presumptive GOP presidential nominee) have (for all practical purposes) no legal recourse against defamation and slander. Yes, we know that Romney has a bully pulpit that he could potentially use against Dingy, but we all know that he isn't going to go there: the closest we're going to get is Reince Preibus calling Dingy a 'dirty liar' on the Sunday shows.

In a sane world, Romney's public persona shouldn't matter a bit. He should be able to sue Dingy Harry into bankruptcy for his despicable slander.
