The “bucket of teeth and claws” trick. Very funny.

To the watchers, no doubt. To the recipient, no way.

Somehow, I think this time, Heavenly Father will say Emberlie and her family have suffered enough, and will take her into His loving arms.
But it won’t stop me from praying, because there is always a chance that He will decide in favor of those of us selfish enough to wish her to stay.
She is such a courageous little girl. Thanks for your prayers for her.

“I’m not going to drop it!” is another line always followed by disaster.

We have SO much rain right now! I don’t know what the totals will be by the end of the day, but the middle school next to us has a weather station so I will see if I can pull it up.
This is what monsoons should be like...

What use is a monsoon if you can’t tell it from the usual drought?
Hasn’t rained here yet. I made teh byos go outside. I’m a horrible parent - how dare I not let them sit around the house all afternoon complaining that they’re bored?

You ARE a horrible parent. Not like mine, of course. We were always outside, doing something, and IF we dared to complain on those ugly late fall-winter-early spring days that we had nothing to do and/or were bored, we usually found ourselves up to our elbows in some kind of W*O*R*K!
So we managed to make our own “busyness.”

Friday or Saturday nights were my favorite times in the winter, though I realize now that money was so tight we were lucky to have what we did to eat; on those nights, our “nanny” (to use today’s term) would make cinnamon rolls. She was Norse and Swedish by birth, and her rolls were to die for!
And still, on some dreary Friday evenings, I wish she were in my kitchen, working her magic. ;o]

I used to make cinnamon rolls. I had a starter I got from a lady in the church in Norman.
The byos claimed they heard thunder and came back. Vlad says he got in poison ivy, but I hope he’s mistaken. Sigh.
