Now now, I try to keep things simple, if I add in all the caveats and exceptions it becomes confusing to some. For example saying all those not under parole or on probation...or substituting weapons for fire arms and then excluding nuclear bombs and saran gas. Can you understand the confusion engendered in some. I post on a lot of forums where the readers are no where as sharp as here at Free Republic so I try to KISS my posts.

My carry permit was issued in 1791. Citizens with no criminal record should be able, at will, to carry, concealed or open, any firearm they please, hand gun or long gun, anywhere they please without let or hindrance by government authorities. When my body reaches ambient temperature then you may take my weapons.

You are wrong.

In 1791, a government was created that acknowledged that your carry permit was issued by GOD a the moment of your creation.

Anyone who tells you otherwise is evil, and damned to hell.

Free Republic is the only forum where that statement is picked apart so thoroughly. I could have used acknowledged instead of issued but then would have been castigated by atheists, you see the problem?

My carry permit was issued/acknowledged in 1791. There is that better?

Ban guns, the bad guy brings a sword, ban swords, bad guy makes one from a board and glass slivers.

Uh, no. Bad guy goes around to a grey-haired Paki immigrant who met "Chargin' Charlie" Wilson once, back in the day, and had a living in the camps turning out very tolerable copies of SMLE Enfields in .303 and AK-74's in 5.45mm just like the one Osama carried while interviewing with ABC News.

So bad guy gets all signed up and, nine months later, takes delivery of two PPSh submachineguns with drums, an RPD clone, and a very workable AK-47 with six preban 30-round "banana" magazines. All full auto, of course, and all threaded for the old man's wide range of available suppressors. And a Makarov in (special request) 9mm Kurz, aka .380 auto.

I agree. Alinsky style mocking works wonders on liberals. It s what keeps them all liberals.

What’s a good mock for the gun control issue?

And no, arming more people wouldn't have saved the victims in this massacre - imagine how many more deaths there would have been with multiple people shooting in a dark, crowded theater.

Dumbest thing ever written. How was it better for the shooter to be the only one in the room with a gun?! I heard a witness account that made it clear that the guy paused to reload at least once. One armed citizen could have stopped him right there. How many lives could have been saved?

“Some armed citizens might have actually kept this from being a massacre.”

I’m certain of it. It would have only taken one armed in close proximity to the shooter and the death toll would be less.

It is my understanding that the theater was posted as not allowing firearms (most CC states allow a business to so post). IF it turns out that someone wounded or killed, or even in the theater, had to leave their firearm outside in a vehicle. I predict this theater chain will be rightfully sued out of business. When they “disarmed” a licensed citizen coming into their business, they assumed FULL responsibility for their life and safety. This DID NOT happen. They need to be seriously raked over in civil court.

Who I am is someone who knows a little something about firearms, that doesn't trot out imagination and speculation, then illegitimately claim it an "opinion."

Obviously, you are guilty of everything you are throwing against me. Or, you did not see the last footage of the scene I am talking about.

Both perps were running AWAY. Now, I don't know how you imagine that to be a threat, but I know if he had shot one of them IN THE BACK, he would have been arrested.

Obviously, you think otherwise. Well, that's fine with me. You behave that way if you want, but don't be surprised if you end up in prison.

Stand your ground does not mean you can shoot a fleeing perp.
