As long as it pushes homosexual marriage, families will go elsewhere.Of course. "Forced" tolerance is not tolerance at all. It's a lie.
Hopefully, the fall of Penny's will show others what could happen if they jump on the "You will think as we tell you to think" bandwagon.

If appealing to "family values" or "faith-based traditions" was what it took, JC Penny would not have found itself in a position of needing to remake its brand or felt it had to appeal to the same-sex agenda.
The AFA stated JPC's credit was already "junk" status which tips off the fallaciousness of their point.
Now they are simply piling on hoping to see the end of a once great dept. store to claim a "victory" for their fundraising letters.

Well, on one side of the coin, it makes economic sense to market to gays, on average, they are more affluent than the average American and probably the only few cash cows out there now. I don't have much of a problem in general, it is just another demographic, right now, we have too many people chasing too few dollars.
Then on the other side, you risk ticking off your established market base as we see here so there are times you got to make the correct decision. I can't say if that's the reason their stock is down or not, too many factors out there. They are a business out to make money by serving their fellow human beings. I can't be too worried about this when we are going down economically, kicking hornets' nests in the Middle East, Iran, weakening our military (*), illegals crossing the border, Islam on the rampage and so on. I do support the idea of people decision to shop there, or not, according to their values. The ball is in their court, I'll leave it at that.
* - I'm concerned about the gay issue on our military though, we are bending back way too far to be PC and accomodating and this will hurt us in the future. I was OK with "don't ask, don't tell," where if one does admit being gay, they are out. I can see the point where maybe they say, it is their country too so gays should be able to join, but if it damages our morale and ability to fight, I would have to say no. There are other ways to contribute to America, not all battles are fought with a gun. Think of Alan Turning of the UK, he was a homosexual, yet, he did a great part in the work of developing computers and cracking Axis codes.

Screw them all. I’ll never buy a single product from JC Penny again. Just one more stupid PC company on my list. Hope they go out of business - too bad for their employees.

Somebody didnt do their math... if 2% of americans are gay... they are in a higher income bracket, however how many would actually shop at jc pennys? So what amount of market share did they think they could capture? How can that compare with a customer base with traditional moral values? Make no sense whatsoever from just a business point of view.

Well; amazing how fast these messages are sent. That said; if JCP crashed because of this announcement; they may finish off in a 'burn' after people read; they are doing away with their cashiers - so reported anyway. . .
(Surely, a few, helpful hands/I> will be left standing; no? This MO would not 'invite' me; by any stretch; to come and shop with JCP. . .)

Screw Penny’s. I won’t waste my time to send them a message. Let them die. Then let all the displaced employees wonder why.

When I was a kid back in the '60s, our local J.C. Penney store was known as a "cheap" store.
As soon as you walked in, you would be hit by the fragrance of chintzy starchy stuff and cheap perfume.
There was no attempt at merchandising back then. Bras, girdles, nighties, undies were just hung out there limply, or heaped in a pile.
I actually feel a little nostalgia for those days. The presentation was more honest, in its own humble way.

JCPenney Sucks rocks, and I will NEVER again buy anything from their stores. The silly geese. I am ashamed to ever have been associated with them. J. C. Penney should be rolling over in his grave, about this time.
When I was a kid, there were two stores in town that competed. JCP had been there there longest, but that doesn’t mean they were the best.
