If romney has any chance at all of winning this coming election... he will need every single vote that he can muster. He has always taken the base for granted because that is what his handlers tell him that he can afford to do. rove whispers in his ear that the Conservatives in the base will come along after the Convention... that they always do. They think that they have blind faith within the Conservatives in the base... but too many of us have awakened to their game.
It is mitt that has to find a bridge to those that distrust him... not the other way around. To date... I have seen not one shred of evidence that points to that scenario. romney obfuscates and carefully issues statements that are manufactured to allow anyone to read whatever they want to into the meaning of his words... or he just refuses to comment on a subject at hand.
My prediction is multi pronged.
1) I think that romney will continue to shift leftward
2) romney's employees will continue to spread propaganda, discontent and division on sites like Free Republic
3) I think that you will stay right here on this "insignificant" website with its "insignificant" FReepers and continue to remain active in supporting romney and his agenda. All we have to do is wait and see.

Conservatives haven't had any voice in the GOP especially Oval Office or the Presidential Cabinet including VP since Reagan was POTUS. The rest to follow were ones who wanted the Conservatives to shut up and vote for them. Romney by his record is no different.

Well so do I, BUT I am prepared for the worst as best that I can. I stuck my right hand up and swore and oath to defend the Constitution more times than I care to remember. Basically when I was 17 I wrote a blank check to the United States of America in the amount of up to and including my life and that went on for 25 years. No one has ever handed that check back so as far as I am concerned it is still valid.
